Footbridge Farm Cabin

Footbridge Farm is a quiet country get-away located on 90 wooded acres, 15 miles NE of Decorah. We are close to the mouth of Canoe Creek, the Upper Iowa River and adjacent to state DNR land. The cozy owner-built cabin has an open ceiling with exposed beams and rafters giving a sense of spaciousness. Local stone was used in the exterior walls and the floor-to-ceiling fire back behind the wood-burning stove. The floors are oak and slate. Detailed craftsmanship can be found throughout the cabin.

Unwind at the Stone

Our upper level has an open loft space with 4 king beds. Full bathroom with urinal and 2 vanities located outside the bathroom. One bed can be private with sliding doors. Our lower level has a partial partition between 2 king beds, full bathroom. Main level, single bedroom, queen Murphy bed and queen sofa, half bath. There is a deck off the upper level with Mississippi River views connecting to a main level deck off our kitchen. Under the deck on the ground level is outdoor shower and BBQ area.

Tranquility & Vistas on the Farm in the Guest Barn

When you arrive at our 16 acre farmstead and enter the Guest Barn, you'll notice the construction materials which were salvaged from a nearby barn and corncrib. The timbers from these buildings were torn down, moved to our farm and rebuilt into a smaller “new” barn. It truly represents a real farm experience you can feel. While here, you'll slow down and enjoy the tranquility. Walk around the farm, make friends with a cow, watch barn kitties play, while gazing across the vast farm vistas.

This loft style cabin was crafted in 2020 & has sleeping space for up to 6 guests, featuring a king bed, full size bed & full size futon. Enjoy the rustic charm of this quaint, simple cabin. A safe and short walk to the river and shared boat dock. On a quiet dead end road. Outdoor firepit with wood supplied. Cabin details: Family-friendly space. Stocked kitchen with coffee bar items. Full bathroom with tub, 1 bedroom, open concept dining/living area. Living area equipped with a full/twin bunk bed. Stoddard: Rocky's Supper Club (Wed-Sat), Thursty Turtle Bar and Kwik Trip. Public boat ramp and park just down the road.

Located one block from the Missisippi River. Our most pristine suite. Enjoy a relaxing time on your private patio that faces the Mississippi River. Suite comes with a full kitchen, living room with a fireplace and sofa sleeper. Enjoy a spa-like shower in our new rain shower. Two bedrooms each with a queen bed. Owners put a lot of attention to detail in this amazing suite. Walking distance to shops, restaurants and parks. All 6 units at Backwater Suites have indoor access to each other.

You can come and enjoy the surrounding areas if you want, but you can also just come and spend the entire time away from the outside world. It is a quiet, peaceful, relaxing place to just unwind. Located up on a bluff, between Prairie Du Chien and Ferryville, this cabin gets you about 5 minutes from the river but allows you the serenity of being tucked away in the trees.
