The Grant Park Farmhouse- Authentic Southern Charm

Make breakfast under the gabled ceiling of a pristine kitchen boasting vintage 1940s Youngstown kitchen cabinets. Combining white wood shiplap, oak scrap hardwood floors, and powder blue accents, this gorgeous home is steeped in historic charm. Expect to enjoy the natural light gleaning through the beautiful stained-glass windows. A rusted tin roof tops off this charmer, but it's the rainy nights where the rusted tin truly speaks to you. The farmhouse is a replica of what you see when driving through the beautiful rural Georgia landscape. Many of the old boards on the exterior were removed from a old home just south of Atlanta built during the civil war. The rest of the exterior came from an old cotton mill and a two room school house built in the early 1900's. It also has a tin roof that is most enjoyable during those rainy nights. The interior walls have all ship lap and bead board siding. The kitchen boasts an old wash board sink with matching metal cabinets from the 1940's. The bathroom has a old stain glass window and an authentic distressed medicine cabinet. The living area has two more stain glass windows and distressed oak floor throughout. It has a king size bed and a full couch for comfort. The exterior has one small upstairs porch and a sitting area down near the stairs entrance. The house is at the dead end of an ally and not near any major intersections. This makes the space quiet for an urban setting. Even though the house was made to appear old, it has many of the amenities you would want in a newly constructed house such as a tank-less water heater for those long hot showers, and spray foam insulation for comfort. Our main home and the farm house share a lot so if something is needed we are not far away. The farmhouse is privately tucked behind the main house on a private drive with it’s own entrance and parking. Coffee shops, restaurants, The Atlanta Zoo, Atlanta Beltline, historic Grant Park, Georgia State Stadium and the Eventide Brewery are all within walking distance. Close attractions include, Centennial Olympic Park, World Congress Center, Mercedes Benz Stadium, World of Coke, Fox Theater, Phillips Arena, Ponce City Market and Georgia Aquarium all less than 2 miles.

PLEASE NOTE BEFORE BOOKING: This is a cozy Cottage, less than 600 sq ft, equivalent to the size of a 2 car garage. 4 people is the max capacity and it is ideal for 2 adults. I am sorry I cannot permit service dogs. I have a family member with a life-threatening allergy to dogs/cats and stays here when they visit me. My beautiful cottage home is located only 1 mile from the Marietta Square and sits right down the road from all the incredible nature walks that Kennesaw Mountain has to offer. Come stay in this extremely clean and well maintained home away from home. Quiet, safe, plenty of free parking in the driveway, and a front door keypad lock for the easiest access. The Cottage sets on the South River. With beautiful views all around it. The kitchen is great for cooking. There are 2 eating areas 1 inside and 1 outside with plenty of tables and chairs on the deck. 2 bedrooms with queen beds a 3rd room with a twin/ trundle . Also,a couch that pulls out to a full bed.A short walk from our front door is Arabia Mountain Trail. It feels remote here but close to everything.
