The Coach House at Hawkstone Lodge

The Coach House sits in the grounds of Hawkstone Lodge which dates back to the 1850s. The accommodation provides a bright and airy living area on the upper floor with scenic views to the south across the Firth of Clyde to the Cumbrae Isles. Seals and occasionally otters can be seen along the shore. The ground floor comprises an entrance hallway leading to the bedroom and bathroom with stairs up to the living area. The bedroom looks onto the spacious garden area to the rear of Hawkstone Lodge.

This former cotton mill workers cottage dating back to 1805 in the centre of Rothesay is the perfect location, offering the convenience of being in the town centre as well as being a base to explore the island and beyond. The property is cosy, well equipped and decorated to a high standard to ensure a comfortable stay. All pets are welcome. There is a log burning stove in the living room. There is ample parking outside the property. Travel cot and highchair available if required - please ask.

It's also a great base for exploring the isle of Bute, the "secret Argyll Coast", and the Arrochar Alps. After a big day out, you can come back and relax in front of the log burner. Leac Na Sith means "Hearthstone of Tranquility"... it could not be a more appropriate name.

Accommodation is in a spacious 2 bedroom Victorian house, built in 1870. It is part of a courtyard with a deli, smokehouse and award-winning seafood restaurant. The house is beside the A78 road, backing onto the Fairlie moors where you can find walking, cycling and hiking routes up Kaim hill with outstanding views of the Clyde coast. Dunlop is only 1/2 hour drive to some of Ayrshires top golf courses. The train takes less than 30 mins to Glasgow city centre. The village has a community pub, a community cafe(open Thursdays and Fridays for morning coffee and lunch. A newsagent, post office/ shop and an Artisan Bakery ( openThursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday.) A new craft shop has also recently opened next door to our home. The nearest supermarket is 10 mins. drive away.
