The Appalachian Trail (McAfee Knob), Smith Mountain Lake, James River, and Carvin Cove reservoir are also close. Feel close to nature while being close to conveniences of shopping and nice restaurants just down the mountain in Salem and Roanoke. One bed/bath with a pull out sofa in living room. Pet friendly! It's now a blend of farmhouse and contemporary. This cottage is also a blend of country and town, with plenty of space to spread out, relax, walk our 3 acres, view mountains, and watch the deer. In the country, as quiet as possible in Southern Bedford County, this detached, garage-top Airbnb is on Dannie’s private driveway, 200 yards down from the gate. Dannie also operates an AirBnB Lake house at mile marker 8 on Leesville Lake, just a hundred yards further down the driveway, all located on Dannie's 10 acre, forested retirement retreat. There is free access to our Leesville Lake boat ramp available with plenty of parking for a boat trailer and limited access to our dock.

Bring your family to enjoy smores in the fire pit, grilling on the back deck, and lovely creek in the back yard. 10 minutes away, host a beautiful Smith Mountain Lake with plenty of activities. Boat rentals, put put, arcade, and great restaurants just down the road. There is plenty of room for parking for all who want to bring your own boat.
