Although in the countryside, it´s only 20 min away from Jogja´s city center. We are a German-Indonesian family living nearby who has loved this area for years. Welcome to Joglo Gumuk, our small retreat space in the village Gendeng, surrounded by tropical gardens and overlooking the rice fields, just 8 km south of Yogyakarta. At the heart of Joglo Gumuk are two traditional Javanese wooden houses, each with its own character, and a movement studio where we host yoga, movement classes and small retreats. More than a place to stay, we hope to offer a place to slow down, reconnect with nature and experience everyday village life.
