This cozy but spacious apartment is the upstairs unit of a renovated barn built in the early 1900s. Recently refurbished, it retains charming features of the original barn. There is a newly redone bathroom, large couch, full kitchen, and bedroom with king-sized bed. The couch can be made into an unconventional twin bed as well. Though the setting is rural, set between corn fields and forest, it is just off of a main road and close to towns, Gun Lake Casino, and two ski resorts.

Staying in a house designed by Frank Lloyd Wright is a bucket list item for fans of America's most acclaimed architect. The Amberg House was completed in 1911 at the pinnacle of Wright's Prairie Style influence. Though every Wright home is special, the Amberg House is a unique collaboration between Wright and Marion Mahony. Mahony worked with Wright from 1896 until 1909. The lookout inspired Outpost Treehouse (not actually attached to a tree) sits in a white pine forest in the middle of a 50 acre active farm. The 15 hand crafted windows allow for great views watching out for Michigan wildlife--White tail deer, turkeys, owls, coyote have all been spotted from the elevated wrap around deck. The biggest regret that guests have noted is “we wish we would have stayed longer”!
