The Saddlery Cottage

Beautiful converted cottage in the grounds of an historic Victorian country house in rural Wales. Wood-burning stove, Wi-Fi, stunning views of the Black Mountains. Perfect for walkers, cyclists, garden-lovers, or horse-riders of all ages. Just 450 yards on a private drive through the estate from a barn which sleeps 8 (see 'Eco-Barn in the Brecon Beacons'). Ideal also for larger gatherings. Dogs welcome; a maximum of two permitted. The cottage is located on a 19th century country house estate of about 10 acres of gardens, lawns and woods. There are three bedrooms - a double ensuite on the ground floor, and two upstairs bedrooms (two doubles, one can be made up as twin beds) that share a large bathroom. A double-height kitchen and an open plan living/dining area with a banquette, a woodburning stove, two large comfy sofas and fabulous views. One side of the cottage looks onto a cobbled stable yard, and the other onto its own garden, then beyond that parkland, Llangorse Lake and the Black Mountains. Fabulous restaurants and farm shops are within a short drive as well as the lake, with boating facilities, beautiful walks out of your front door, and great biking trails. An all-around perfect location for a peaceful holiday in rural Wales. The cottage has its own entrance and parking, also its own garden with a table and chairs. Guests are welcome to explore the grounds of Treberfydd House, and are free to bring up to two pets. My husband and I and our family live a couple of minutes' walk from the Saddlery, and are available to help with any questions guests may have. Completely rural idyll - Perfect for those who want to escape the city and drink in the joys of the countryside. You would need a car to get around. Wellies are recommended, and good walking gear advisable for the hills. Booking is normally for a minimum of three nights. Between November and and March we offer a special rate for a Friday + Saturday booking with a late checkout of 4.30pm on Sunday. Please contact us for details. Heads of the Valley is nearby & provides great access across South Wales. Cardiff is an hour away by train. We are a quiet retreat, ideal for walkers, young families or couples wanting a relaxing, peaceful break. Pets are welcome but there are additional charges. Please ask us in advance as we have our own dogs.

Cwm Farm Cwtch, is a homely cottage set on a farm in Pontsticill, Merthyr Tydfil. You can enjoy the fantastic views and scenery, take a walk around our farm and interact with the animals (donkeys, chickens, dogs). Situated in the Brecon Beacons National Park, The Cwtch is in a perfect location for a number of activities, e.g Brecon Mountain Railway, Bikepark Wales, Morlais Golf Course, River fishing and lots more. There are a number of pubs in the village that serve food and local beers.

Moy retreat - great for BPW and Taff Trail!

Good sized 3 bed house in the quiet village of Aberfan. 10 minutes drive from Bike Park Wales. Right next to the Taff trail. Own drive way. Welcome to my much loved house in Aberfan. I purchased this with my ex-husband after many trips to BPW Wales, planning to let it out then retire in 20 years or so! Nothing has changed except I now have no husband (yay)! Improvements ongoing which is reflected in price. Pets are welcome at £25 per pet. Please make sure to clean up after them!

Old Miners Cottage, Abercanaid

This bright and modern old miners cottage is a self contained home which includes 3 bedrooms and a practical bathroom on the first floor. Meanwhile the ground floor contains a kitchen and a large living/dining area with lots of light. The garden includes a lock up area for 6 bikes, where padlocks can be added as well as a place to sit to have a drink and relax. WIFI is FREE! We are perfectly located for Bike Park Wales, Brecon Beacons, Merthyr Rising, etc.

It has stunning 180 degrees views of the valley and has fantastic local walks and bike routes from the doorstep. Local attractions include The Brecon Beacons National Park, Cardiff city and Bay, Bike Park Wales, Cwmcarn Forest, Monmouthshire and Brecon Canal and The Big Pit National Coal Museum. Perfect Dog walking country.

Granary Cottage 1 - Brecon Beacons National Park

Granary 1 is set around a courtyard with two other properties and opposite The Old Barn Tearoom. The Taff Trail runs past the main gate and Pen y Fan is within walking distance. The property is in the heart of the Brecon Beacons National Park between the Iron Heritage town of Merthyr and Brecon. There is walking and biking from the front door, the Brecon Mountain Railway and Bike Park Wales are also close at hand.
