Mrs Leonard's Cottage is part of Bothan Jura Retreat; a collection of three boutique properties each with a wood-fired hot tub. Exclusive to Mrs Leonard's is an ice barrel & an electric sauna. Located in Knockrome, a Crofting Township 5km from Craighouse, BJR has magnficent sea & mountain views and is within a short distance of the gateway to climbing The Paps of Jura. A base for two, from which to explore the Island, sample whisky, 'dook' in the sea, or kick back and cut out the noise.

Approximately 1 mile from PORT ASKAIG ferry terminal where you can also get the ferry to Jura, five minute crossing. There are 3 Distillery’s nearby Bunnahabhain, Coal Ilà and Ardnahoe with a further six distillery’s throughout the Island.

Fabulous round house on the west coast of Scotland

The DRUM at Dunmore is a stunning elliptical house with a sloping roof and high ceilings, clad in charred larch with orange window frames and painted wooden floors. Designed by architect Roderick James and built by a crack team of smashing local chaps, the Drum is a perfect bolt hole for two. It has a wood burning stove and a big squashy velvet sofa, floor to ceiling triple glazed windows and is nestled in woodland on a small estate (complete with castle) and just moments from the sea.

The Black House, Islay

The Black House is a unique property situated between Bruichladdich and Port Charlotte on the island of Islay. We use the house for High School to save commuting from Jura every day so don’t expect a pristine holiday let but rather a loved family space. There are 2 double beds and 2 bunk bedrooms (if you’re a party of single adults then 4 is the maximum number). Views are stunning and Islay’s great for whisky, wildlife or just rest and relaxation. The lodge is also ideal for a golfing getaway, with 5 courses nearby and Machrihanish being known for having the best opening hole in the world.

The Wee House

The Wee House is a one bedroom seafront cottage looking onto Port Ellen. Sleeping up to 4 guests with a sofa bed (full size double) in the living room. Listing price is for 2 guests sharing the bedroom. If the sofa bed is required for bookings of 2 guests please let us know as there is an extra charge (£10 per night). The cottage is within walking distance of local shops, pubs and restaurants and near to the distillery path taking you to Laphroaig, Lagavulin and Ardbeg.

The cottage was built around 1890 to house the Ploughman for Goatfield Farm, and has been extensively remodelled to create a unique getaway. Offering a large double bedroom, lounge and open plan kitchen diner, and stunning bathroom with Victorian roll top bath. The views across Loch Fyne from the private terrace are stunning. Persabus is the gateway to the north Islay distilleries. Persabus Cottage is situated within walking distance of Ardnahoe, Caol ila and Bunnahabhain Distilleries, on a working hill farm. It is close to the bus stop for accessing the South Islay distilleries. With beautiful views of the Sound of Islay and the Paps of Jura. Persabus Cottage was the original farmhouse and has a large farmhouse kitchen, private garden, an open fire as well as oil CH.
