Enjoy your stay at this one level, 3 bedroom newly remodeled country home. Are you here to hike, bike or fish at Moraine State Park or McConnells Mill, attending a wedding at the many local wedding barns or just want to escape to a country setting? You will be comfortable here. Conveniently located to Rt 79, and Rt 422, and only 45 minutes to Pittsburgh. Relax in the country and enjoy what the city has to offer! See events at Cooper’s Lake, Butler Fair Grounds, Butler Farm Show, SRU and GCC.

Cottage at Lake Tranquility

Located beside 3.5-acre lake (private) with deck overlooking a pasture and swans ... a peaceful getaway. Upstairs is a loft with twin beds and small office. Electric heating and A/C make it very cozy. A queen-sized bedroom on the first-floor, kitchen, bathroom with shower, and laundry room. The living area is directly above horse stalls in the basement. We have isolated that area from the living spaces, but if you are extremely sensitive to farm odors you might prefer to stay somewhere else.

Gwen’s Cottage is located on the privately owned and operated estate, Water’s Edge, which was recently re-established in January 2022 by Western Pennsylvania native, Gwendolyn Reno. This cottage is a newly renovated, 490sqft, studio-style accommodation, perched along side the Slippery Rock Creek adjacent to McConnells Mill State Park. This charming cottage has a wrap around deck that quite literally over-looks the creek and faces the state park land located just across the water.

Descend the 45 steps to the cottage and find “there’s no place like (a 2nd) home”. From the wraparound deck you may see geese, deer, bald eagles, osprey, beaver, great blue heron and ducks. You will find yourself just 15 minutes from Moraine and McConnells Mill State Parks. 15 minutes from Mines and Meadows, 10 minutes from Sunset Ranch.
