The Gardeners Cottage @ Corvisel - cosy & quirky!

The Gardeners Cottage is set within the walled gardens of Corvisel House, built by Rear Admiral John McKerlie in 1829. We have restored the cottage in a vintage, quirky style with Donegal & Harris tweed soft furnishings & floral accents to reflect the glorious garden outside! It's located at the edge of Newton Stewart so very handy for evening strolls to the eateries in town. You can take walks in our small forest from the courtyard & hang out in the walled garden - green fingers are welcomed!!

Nestled in a secluded glen surrounded by mountains and forest, comfortable family holiday accommodation in a detached cottage. Close to the Galloway Forest park, an excellent base for walking, mountain biking and star gazing due to the dark skies. The famous Southern Upland Way walking route is accessible on foot from the cottage along with other beautiful hill walking, including some impressive peaks with breathtaking views. Streams and pools nearby for paddling and wild swimming adventures.

The Old Toll House Petite and perfectly formed

Petite but perfectly formed The Old Toll house is a perfect base to explore Dumfries and Galloway. The Old Toll house was built in 1813 the same time as the bridge was built. It was the original Toll house used to collect the payment for people crossing between Newton Stewart and Minnigaff. A recently renovated 120 year old workers cottage, set off the main road with private parking and a large back garden that leads directly to the beach. On a high tide the sea can come within a metre or so from the bottom of the garden. Whilst the beach is a public space it is typically only utilized by the residents due to the limited access points along the shore. The perfect setting to enjoy life by the sea and explore the beautiful Ards Peninsula.
