Private Ballard Backyard Cottage with Natural Light

Escape the bustle of the city and relax in a cozy backyard sanctuary. Sample local craft beer in an Adirondack chair in the garden. Watch a widescreen TV from the bed and make coffee in the morning. This adorable cottage comes complete with queen bed, hardwood flooring, kitchenette with Farmhouse sink, kitchen island, fridge freezer, Kuerig coffee maker, toaster, slow cooker, and induction hot plate. With a 50 gallon water heater there will be enough hot water for all your needs. The high end bathroom is completed with a Kohler sink, toilet and hardware. There is also a closet to hang and store clothes and bags. The cottage is heated via high efficiency electric infra red heaters mounted on the ceiling. There is also a whole house ventilation system to keep the air fresh throughout the year (the switch to turn hi/low or on/off is inside the closet). Cable TV, wifi and a DVD player are also available. Amazon and Netflix are included on the smart TV for your use with your own passwords. Free parking is available on the street in front of the Cottage/Main house. The Cottage is a short walk via a gravel pathway to the right of the main house towards the back of the property. Guests are welcome to use the patio seating area outside the Cottage, which includes Adirondack chairs, picnic table, and a Weber grill. We welcome contact via email, text or cell at anytime before or during your stay to answer any questions you may have. During your stay, we like to leave the personal interaction guest dependent. We value your privacy and would love to give you a friendly welcome greeting if we pass. However, we are always available and more than happy to chat, just let us know. The Seattle neighborhood of Ballard has many restaurants, bars, coffee shops, a cinema, bakeries, and quirky stores. The Sunday market is a must. Golden Gardens Beach, the Ballard Locks, and the Nordic Heritage Museum are all close by. The Cottage is around a 20 min drive to Downtown Seattle. One block from the Cottage you can catch the #40 bus to Downtown Seattle, Fremont, and South Lake Union. Uber and Lyft are readily available in this neighborhood. Grant and Bev are garden lovers, whether it's pottering in the garden, BBQ'ing outside the main house or just chilling. Our kids are also outdoor enthusiasts so will be in and out the garden space around the main house. There is also a store room built at the back of the Cottage with access only from the garden that we use time to time. We respect your privacy and space. The patio area outside the Cottage is for your exclusive use.

Detached Private Upscale Guest Cottage

This is a detached, completely private studio cottage. From the studs out remodel completed in 2014. It has a full travertine bathroom, washer dryer, full size kitchen appliances, miles of granite counter, work space, eating area, built in storage in closet, vaulted ceilings, queen bed. Free internet of course and Direct TV. Top of Queen Anne hill. Within half a block there is casual dining, Macrina Bakery, Bustle, Taco Shop, Targy’s Bar. Dry cleaning and Ken’s Market full grocery store also a half a block away. Full sized appliances, dishes, cookware, coffee pot, blender, and spices. Private outdoor courtyard with BBQ, eating and lounging areas. Private entrance to yard from off street alley parking for 1 car. Additional parking on street. We will be there if you need us but will set it up for you to come and go on your own. Since you're in our backyard, we're around in case you need any assistance. We will be happy to provide anything you need as far as special requests prior to your arrival and if you want special places to go we do have vast knowledge of everything fun to do!!! 6 blocks walk to Queen Anne Ave for all the shops, fine dining and nightlife. ½ mile walk to Kerry Park for the best view of Seattle in town. 1 ½ miles to lower Queen Anne and Seattle Center. Less than 3 miles to downtown and Pike Place Market. We are minutes from some of Seattle's best dining. My personal favorite restaurants within a five minute walk are: How to Cook a Wolf and Lloyd Martin. Groceries: Ken’s Market is on the corner but Safeway and Trader Joes are within a few blocks. Transportation: The #2 bus stop to Seattle Center and downtown core is on the corner, other bus lines are within a 3 block walk. There is a ZipCar at the 7-11 on Queen Anne Ave. There are usually Car2Go cars nearby. This is not only one of Seattle's more desirable and sought after neighborhoods we are also one of the safest neighborhoods. Walk six blocks to Queen Anne Ave for plentiful shops, fine dining, and nightlife. A little closer, Kerry Park has the best view of Seattle. Also not far away are lower Queen Anne and Seattle Center, as well as downtown and Pike Place Market.

Come stay at this Northwest Green Home Tour 'Audience Choice' Award Winning Property! Gorgeous urbanchic Studio Loft in a backyard cottage located between the highly coveted Fremont and Ballard neighborhoods, complete with exposed beams/high ceilings, high end flooring and designer fixtures, chef's kitchen, in-unit washer/dryer, sleeping loft with queen bed, balcony and private patio areas, and sunset mountain views. Amenities include a bottle of wine and all you can drink Seattle coffee! The main bedroom area is designed as a loft area with open access to the living space below. You access the queen bed in the loft via the ladder stairs seen in the photo. There is also a Queen pull-out couch made by Crate and Barrel. The loft comfortably sleeps 4 people between the two beds, but is ideal for a couple or a single person. This cottage is an easy stroll to the hip and restaurant clad, vibrant neighborhood of Fremont, or for a more metropolitan Seattle experience, the heart of downtown and Pike Market is less than 3 miles from the cottage doorstep. This very private, very quiet and self-cointained unit is accessible through the the alley (30 feet from plenty of street parking). Cottage front door is on second level with stairs, above garage area. The cottage is a stand alone building. No shared space or access with main house. The perfect mix of the Seattle high end, urban yet sophisticatedly-simple lifestyle!

This comfortable Cottage is conveniently located in the heart of Fremont with private parking in driveway and a fenced-in courtyard. The Cottage is within a short walking distance to downtown Fremont, Greenlake, Phinney Ridge, Woodland Park Zoo and several award winning restaurants and coffee shops. Please Note!!
