This secluded and very quiet, 370 sq ft in home apartment, space is nestled in the trees with a territorial view to the southwest. If you have an appreciation for hand crafted details this is the place for you: hand made windows, a bed frame made from salvaged fir bleacher seats, owner designed light fixtures, and traditionally crafted woodworking details throughout. The Chestnut stays cool in the summer and cozy in the winter with its heated concrete floors. Open all twelve windows south and west and you might think you’re in a treehouse. This space is thoughtfully designed as a restful retreat after a long day of exploring or hectic day of business travel. If you like to cook, the kitchen is complete with a gas range, a full size electric oven, microwave, under counter refrigerator/ freezer, farm style sink, and all the needed utensils. The Chestnut has its own secure entrance and private patio. It is accessible by stairs only. I am here and happy to help. Perched on the hilltop above the historic business district, the Chestnut provides easy access to Fremont neighborhood and many delicious restaurants and local shops. Look for the many public art pieces nearby or walk along the gorgeous ship canal. There are plenty of food options within walking distance and a number of buses that will easily take you downtown, east to the University district, west to Ballard, and north to greater North Seattle.

The Suite has a private entrance with french doors that open to a deck and courtyard garden. You’ll feel at “Home" in a very comfortable Queen Sized bed, Full Closet, Large Shower with Shampoos, Body Wash, Lotions, etc., Coffeemaker, Microwave, Mini Fridge, Smart TV, WiFi, and a Laptop Workspace.

There is ample free street parking on my block and 6 bus routes to downtown within 4 blocks from here. The bed is a Full / Double Size, sleeper sofa.

We created this ~650sqft modern 1BR apartment (ADU) in the basement of our 1926 craftsman, which is located on a quiet, residential street in Queen Anne with close proximity to downtown Seattle. We previously rented the unit to long-term tenants, but we recently decided to refresh it and furnish it for our own use as well as occasional short-term rentals.
