Most every room has wonderful views of the Hazel River and the Appalachian Mountains (Shenandoah NP) beyond. The river's clear waters invite fly fishing, and swimming holes abound as do nearby hiking trails in SNP (favorites, Old Rag and Marys Rock). Noted restaurants are nearby as are many vineyards and antique stores. (County code encourages multi-day [weekly/monthly] stays).

Escape from the city for a peaceful retreat soaking in gorgeous views in the country. You'll find some of the best hiking in Virginia nearby, and enjoy private access to the trout-stocked Hughes River. This 1920s Craftsman-style farmhouse was completely renovated in 2024 to include all the modern amenities. In addition to brand new electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems, you'll find a gourmet kitchen, modern finishes, a hot tub, high-speed satellite internet, and an electric vehicle charger.

Enjoy the lovely, quiet setting on 21 acres. Newly renovated 2 story bank barn will be your home away from home. Soft, muted colors, zen feel. Come relax, hike, ride your bike, go wine and craft beer tasting, Copper Fox Distillery, has nice gin and bourbon if you prefer. Visit Luray Caverns and Shenandoah National Park, or shop at Sperryville gift shops, restaurants, antique markets and art galleries. Old Rag Mountain is only 20 minutes away!

Summer kitchen guesthouse at Caledonia Farm 1812

Summer kitchen guesthouse built of stone in 1812 and located on a 115 acre free-range cattle farm on the National Register of Historic Places. The first floor is a living room with the original cooking fireplace and a kitchenette. Upstairs is a loft bedroom and bath. Housekeeping is provided on Monday and Friday mornings. Enjoy the peace and quiet, dark skies, scenic views, adventure, and culinary excellence of Rappahannock County.
