Evenings are all about stargazing with the telescope and toasting marshmallows by the firepit. Set in the North Pennines AONB, you have walking trails and fishing on the doorstep and many adventures beyond.

Uniquely positioned where Tyne & Wear, County Durham and Northumberland converge, it sits at the heart of the North East. Gardener's Cottage is one of four retreats, with a private entrance and sunny south-facing garden. Wild swimming, fishing, cycling and walks are just beyond the gate. Star-filled skies, owls, deer, badgers and await.

The First Class Carriage

This 95 year old upcycled railway carriage is the perfect getaway for two. Get cozy and settle into this rustic space with a wood fired hot tub and sweeping views of the North Yorkshire countryside. Set in 300 acres on a working farm with plenty of walking onsite and in the local area. Despite her age the carriage includes all modern luxuries such as en suite bathroom with toilet and shower, oven, fridge, tv, WiFi, eco friendly touches and full size double bed. Dogs are also welcome.

Kipling Cottage, Tiny One Bedroom House and Garden

This very old, very tiny cottage offers guests a truly cosy place to stay. You’ll find everything you need in just 18 square metres! Ideal for couples and walkers to enjoy a getaway amongst the beautiful countryside of the North Pennines. The approach to Kipling Cottage is stunning and gives you your first glimpse of the beautiful rolling countryside. Please note that the cottage is not suitable for toddlers/small children, and all children must be declared during the booking process.

The Lake House

The detached Lake House is set in 11 acres. Ravensworth is an enchanting village with many of the houses dating from the 17th century. The village is defined by its green, and ancient ruined castle, only a few miles from the pretty towns of Richmond and Barnard Castle . A village pub and two wonderful farm shop cafes within walking distance. The Lake House has uninterrupted views of the lake and surrounding woodland. The Lake House can also be booked together with Willow Cottage.

Old Stables Wylam -Walks & Village at its doorstep

Countryside location, 100m from village main street with local pubs, shops and restaurants. 15-20 mins from Newcastle, Bus stop 50m away, Train station 10mins walk. The Old Stables at The Brow is a spacious stone built 2 bedroom (1 twin, 1 kingsize) flat with sofas, travelcot & offstreet parking. Multipurpose set up for those travelling with kids, enjoying the countryside, walks, golf, cycling or visiting the city. We live next door so can help with most arrangements.

The Old Chapel

Detached, spacious 1861 Chapel has fabulous panoramic views over the surrounding dale and reservoirs of Baldersdale (AONB). Close to Barnard Castle & Middleton-in-Teesdale with their amenities, cafes and live events at the Witham. Bowlees Visitor Centre , Low & High Force Waterfalls are less than 10 miles away. You WILL LOVE THIS PLACE if you like walking, cycling, fishing, birdwatching, wildlife, botany, star gazing or just relaxing and soaking up the views. No pets.

The Hutts Clocktower - at the Himalayan Garden

The Hutts Clocktower is a standalone building and perfect for 2 people - located in the award winning Himalayan Garden & Sculpture Park which is an open-air gallery home to 80+ striking contemporary sculptures, showcased in a tranquil valley setting. Howgill Cottage is a boutique studio cottage sleeping two adults. The open plan accommodation includes a comfortable living space featuring a dining table and chairs, double bed, cosy log fire and television. The cottage offers a separate fully equipped kitchen and a stylish shower room with sink and wc. All bedding and towels are provided. Dog friendly - this is a walkers' paradise.
