It's right on the Scottish Border, close to Kielder and Newcastleton (both five miles away), and ideal for visiting Kielder observatory, Kielder Forest, the Borders or north Northumberland. Restored 1860s barn in a valley of it's own

In a peaceful location on the edge of the forest and overlooking a valley, The Blue Hemmel is a high spec barn conversion that has all you'll need for a great holiday. The barn is in the heart of both the National and Dark Sky Parks, and a short drive to Hadrian's Wall. You'll be a mile from your nearest neighbours (us!). So while we can’t offer you a pub at the end of the road, we can give you peace, wildlife and 800 acres to explore.

The store has a recently refurbished kitchen/living room and is ideal for two families holidaying together. It is located in a quiet, rural, riverside haven, close to forests and the Scottish border. Great for family walks and four legged friends. We have a lovely, homely bar/restaurant on site which serves drinks and evening meals over the weekend. Also open for meals in the week on request.
