Thanks Rebecca for your review. As eloquted to you, both Valerie who manages the house on our behalf and I are sorry for the mishaps, but I am also so glad that you found the accommodation and location agreeable. In response to our shortcomings: As you know, you were unfortunately our second guest on Airbnb and Valerie was still getting the checks in place. It is thus regrettable that power and internet ran out on your first day and even more unfortunate is that we didn’t get someone to come and sort both of them immediately. It is of cold comfort to you that the lessons we have learnt from our oversights have been fixed between Valerie and ourselves and I doubt anyone else will have to face this inconvenience. We also acknowledge that you were upset with your communication with Valerie with respect to the aforementioned and we have agreed a manner of conduct with her, she does manage other Airbnb rooms so we hope this in future will also not be an issue. In response to our oversights: I will mention on the note that construction is happening on the house next door till August. In response to other issues: You will note that neither the TV nor the Drier are listed on Airbnb as facilities available in the house. The main reason is that it is my preference that neither are used but they are cumbersome to remove so they are left in place. We personally don’t watch TV so it’s unlikely to ever be connected, however as you mention, there is a DVD player for anyone who so decides to use it and there is a DVD rental shop down the road. There is also a book shelf with some fantastic African holiday titles should anyone require home entertainment. In further response to your need for home entertainment, we will get some board games. As discussed, we prefer the drier and washing machine are not used, a maid is available at £10 a day to do any laundry and we supply the maid at our cost to clean the house at least once a week during your stay. The washing machine wont be listed as an available resource but if someone in future decides to use it, there is a clothes hanging line outside which is what we use. In conclusion: I feel our shortcomings were highly inconvenient to you and should you ever be back on our shores, we are happy to give you a 25% discount on the rate for the equivalent stay you had last time. You can also gift it to anyone you know coming this way. All things considered, I am sure provided we don’t have a repeat of the above school boy errors you enjoyed the house and the location and you will do so again. All the best, Rita
