Cedar Cove is a northern Michigan cottage on Northport Bay just off of Lake Michigan. There's a private sandy beach that's ideal for swimming and boating. There's also a wide wooden dock perfect for sunbathing or kicking back with your favorite book.
There's also plenty of shade from the beautiful cedar trees surrounding the property.
We do allow well-behaved pets at Cedar Cove, but require an additional $100 pet cleaning fee.
2017 and 2018 prices include the 6% Michigan sales tax.
Cedar Cove is a rustic 1940s-era cottage. It can sleep up to 10 with three bedrooms facing the bay, and a sofa bed in the downstairs den. (There's another sofa bed in the living room next to the beautiful stone fireplace, if extra sleeping space is needed.) The full bath upstairs and half bath downstairs are complemented by a beach-side outdoor shower.
A fully equipped kitchen with stove, oven, microwave and coffee maker connects to a dining room with seating for 12. There's also a large screened-in porch with a view of the beach and bay, a picnic table and benches, and Adirondack chairs. You can also lounge under the cedar trees by the beach in a hammock.
The beach is kid-friendly, has a sandy-bottom, and a place for evening fires. There's permanent wide crib-dock perfect for sunbathing or reading in chairs. The dock is protected by a picturesque peninsula which is a great place to sit and watch the water. There’s a beach table and chairs, reclining beach chairs – and just enough shade for those who prefer (or need) to escape the heat. There are two kayaks, two stand-up paddle boards, and a canoe so you can get out and explore the bay.
Guests can access almost all areas of Cedar Cove and the beach. There are two kayaks, two stand-up paddleboards, a canoe, five vintage bikes, and firewood for guests use. Places that are off-limits are the garage, the attic, and the mothballed wood-burning hot tub (it's a labor intensive process to get it up and running :)).
Should there be any problems you can contact the owner at any time. Thanks for considering Cedar Cove for your summer vacation. We love this place and are sure that you will too.
Cedar Cove comes stocked with fire wood for the wood burning stove and fire pit. We do not have a washer/dryer, but you can do laundry in Suttons Bay (16 miles from Cedar Cove). The Village of Northport (4 miles from Cedar Cove) has a hardware store, a grocery store, a full-service marina, a bakery, and bars and eateries to visit.
We welcome well-behaved pets, but do not permit the use of jet skis, out of respect for neighbors and the quiet relaxation that Cedar Cove will bring to you and your family.
