A true tiny house on the edge of the forest in Northern Michigan!
Close to protected lands for hiking and mountain biking. A chance to live close to nature with an outdoor shower & lots of windows while remaining close to Frankfort, Elberta, beaches, and more. Guests have explored Sleeping Bear Dunes, Traverse City, Empire, etc. from here. Experience tiny house living! Only 125 square feet on the main floor. A perfect place for anniversary, birthday, and special celebrations!
**Note**Until spring, the tiny house has a hauled-water supply situation. This can be a fun adventure and all who have come have enjoyed it but make sure it is right for you! There is a bucket with a spigot for doing dishes and a water vessel for drinking water. There is a solar bag shower that can be used outside for the brave-hearted! The water supply to the tiny house is not winterized so now that temperatures have hit below freezing, we supply water in food-grade buckets. You do not need to bring your own water. The tiny stays plenty warm and has electricity.
We are honored by all the great reviews our guests have given us. We want to make sure each guest has an awesome experience so please be sure to thoroughly review the listing to make sure this is the experience you are excited about! Note: check out our new tiny house if this listing is booked:
Kitchen, dining room, living space, and a loft... all in one room! This is a tiny house on wheels built (by us!) on a 7 ft by 18ft. trailer. There is a ladder to the loft, so make sure to check out the photos to see if this is something you would be comfortable using. The bed is a foam mattress (Air B and B doesn't have this option so I selected "real bed"). Bathroom facilities are a composting toilet, very near the house. Also near the house is a delightful outdoor shower with hot running water. Note: Because of the unique characteristics of a tiny house, I did my best to fill out how many "bedrooms" and "bathrooms" the tiny space has. It has the equivalent of one bathroom and one bedroom.
We have another tiny house on the property. Each tiny house has its own privacy. They are located approx. 40 yards apart, separated by a piece of forest.
You will have the whole tiny house to yourselves. Enjoy the hammock, relax by a bonfire, enjoy the stars. We live on the property, not far away so are available if you have any questions, etc. We have a two night minimum stay but if you are interested in just one night and the calendar says that night is available, please message us and we'll see what we can do. Our intention is for the tiny house to be accessible price-wise to folks. If the price you see for the dates you want is not accessible, please message us and let us know what would work for you.
For most visitors, we will be available to meet with you if you have questions. There is a book in the house full of info on our favorites...favorite place for breakfast, favorite beach, mt. bike, etc. We are not offering breakfast as part of a night at the tiny house but if you would like breakfast, please contact us and, if our schedule allows, we would be happy to provide a great breakfast for $15 per person.
We have a french press for making coffee, not a regular coffee pot. If you would like a regular coffee pot for your stay, let me know. While we have a strict cancellation policy, if something comes up on your trip, we will do our best to make it work for you! We will offer you a discount on a future stay or a free night on a future stay, etc. We want you to have the best experience possible and understand our lives change so our plans must all change!
We are pet-friendly and have hosted many groups with dogs. There is a $20/per pet/per night fee, which will not be included in your AirBnB total. Please leave this money in the tiny house before you leave. We require pet owners to follow our pet policy. Inquire for a copy of it.
This accommodation is best for those seeking to enjoy nature and have a relaxing time in Northern Michigan. If you are planning a high-volume party that will carry on late into the night... you'll want to look elsewhere for a place to stay. Pet owners are welcome, provided all pet waste is removed before departure.
