A fantastic week was had by our family of 6 at the Burntside Lake house! First, I'm always prepared for some disappointment upon arrival at a property rental when it just doesn’t quite measure up to the photos in the advertisement display. Not the case here, this property exceeded our expectations in every way! This is a stunningly beautiful home nestled on a lakeside setting that obviously received a lot of thoughtful consideration by its owner in design and site planning. Upon arrival we found everything in order, and very clean and tidy. However, arriving at the property is a bit of an adventure in itself as it is quite remote and the provided directions lacked some clarity. For the benefit of future guests here are the GPS coordinates that will get you to the gate: (PHONE NUMBER HIDDEN)"W After the gate, just stay to the left. During our stay we enjoyed all the offerings. There is not a beach area but we enjoyed safe swimming off the dock every day. The lakeside fire pit was also a major attraction, what a nice way to finish a day at the lake! The owners also offer the use of a canoe and kayak that were a great way to tour the area. Probably the thing that we enjoyed the most was the peace and quiet at this property. As previously mentioned it is very remote on the North arm of Burntside lake. The absence of screaming jet-skis all day long and very light boat traffic was really a treat that I would have not expected on a Northern Minnesota lake late in July. Thomas the host, (and property owner) was very responsive in all communications and accommodated us in every way.
The day we left it was put on the market for sale. So I'm not sure how much longer it's going to be available but we loved it. The only trouble we had with finding the police initially but definitely a great place for a family retreat in the Northwoods for older folks or young children. The host was incredibly responsive and everything was ready to go when we arrived. Getting inside was easy once we found the place and we enjoyed every moment and every sunset
We were thrilled with the quality of this spacious wilderness home, and delighted by the amenities (2 saunas, gourmet kitchen, laundry, TV, canoe, kayak, etc). When we experienced a power outage and called the host, he responded quickly and helped us resolve the issue using the propane generator available on-site - which we set to auto in case of further issues with the power grid. It is rare to find such elegant accommodations in this remote part of the world and we would definitely return. Thank you!
The cabin/home on Burntside was perfect for our annual family vacation. We normally go into the BWCA, but with a 7 week old this year we opted for the cabin. We we delighted to find the home was very comfortable, had amazing amenities (2 saunas), great views, great dock for swimming/boat launching, and was ideal for the family (4 of us plus the grandparents). Thomas was a gracious host, and communicated very well, as our power went out in a storm. Thomas was very responsive and had the power restored with a back up generator in mere hours after we contacted him, whereas most of the area was without power for days. I would definitely recommend this property and its host. Great North woods feel, with all the comforts you could need!
