This listing is definitely NOT as advertised. It is not a cottage. It is a partially finished basement. The space is at the bottom of the stairs, two rooms separated by an unfinished and dirty basement and with no door. It smells of mildew and gas. There was no heat save for…
I'm so sorry my guests didn't enjoy their stay. This is my first unfavorable review in four years. It seems that Caroline finds housing for many employees for simultaneous 2 week stays for the 2014 Election, probably in multiple states. After the surprise, I realized that Caroline Murray had not read the description beyond the word "Cottage" in the title. Apparently, she did not read "Complete apartment with fully equipped kitchen" as described. She assigned two unrelated workers Patrick and Kim to this apartment. I provided a supplemental bedroom for $12 per night for their 2 week stay. When Patrick arrived, I oriented him to the lower level apartment supplies, gas stove, overhead furnace vent, as well as a heater they could regulate themselves. Patrick said they would be fine for their October stay. I asked him to orient Kim who arrived hours later. Kim decided to stay in the carpeted supplemental bedroom with a second space heater. Patrick and Kim left the apartment door wide open even when gone for a long work day. Consequently, any furnace heat rose up the stairwell and out the entry door. Each room was clean, and the three doors had keyed locks. As innkeeper, I removed trash and recycling and cleaned weekly during their stay. My November 4, 2014 text message to Kim still stands: It's been great to see you and Patrick work for our democracy. Best wishes for the future (Website hidden by Airbnb) Thanks, Pa (Website hidden by Airbnb)
