You’ll love our sauna, Tempurpedic mattress, and the splendid view. Enjoy a cup of tea or a glass of wine in the small tea house in the informal "New Moon" Japanese garden, or choose a book from the "take one, leave one" library and read it in the common room. Consider it a casual place to write or retreat. Located in the historic Uniontown neighborhood, this two-story 1914 Craftsman home is near the Riverwalk and sightseeing trolley, and slightly more than a mile west of downtown Astoria.
The room is on the second floor, as is the half bath. The shower is on the first floor, so we provide robes and sandals. In the morning we provide English muffins, fruit, coffee, and a selection of teas. It's not just a bare room. There's wi-fi, a desk, writing paper, and art on the walls. In short, an excellent place to get away from it all.
You'll have access to your bedroom, both bathrooms, kitchen, sauna, front porch sunroom, garden, dining room, and common room. Our home isn't handicapped accessible--there are stairs.
We live in the house, so we are available most of the time to answer questions. Dwight is a magazine writer and photographer who has written over 300 articles about the area, and Rhonda has lived here almost 30 years, so we can answer just about anything you can throw at us.
Whether you socialize or want solitude is up to you. We're happy either way.
