Had an absolutely wonderful 3 day stay at the Birches (first week of October).
Terrific location, great lake views, everything just perfect!
Anne left us with everything you could think of.
Fully stocked kitchen with condiments, Starbucks coffee, gourmet tea,
local eggs, english muffins, etc. Butter, mayo and Nutella!
Soft drinks and seltzer.
Bottled water for the coffee, a welcome touch.
(the tap water is fine to drink, though)
Didn't need A/C, but had two nice new air conditioners ready to go.
Every appliance imaginable. Every household item imaginable!
Nice new flat screen HDTV (40 in, I think) and very fast wifi internet.
Comfortable furniture and bed. Extra blankets.
We could watch movies on our own Netflix account, a nice plus.
We did need heat one night, and the silent Honeywell Radiant Electric Radiator did the job quite nicely. Very comfortable.
There is also a gas fireplace with remote control, which heated up the whole place quickly. The floor to cathedral ceiling center chimney was made from local fieldstone, with incredible craftsmanship.
Perfect for two people. Spacious, lovely decor. Open floor plan. Great pieces of artwork everywhere. Clean as a whistle. Plenty of nice fluffy towels. Even though the cottage is right on top of the water, it smelled delightfully clean and fresh. No musty odors whatsoever!
And oh, the views.
Nothing better than sitting on the 2nd floor screened-in porch overlooking the pristine lake with your morning coffee. If you're lucky, the lake's pair of resident swans will stop by for a visit.
Would absolutely rent this spectacular home again.
