This mid-century modern house is completely restored, and beautifully furnished and decorated, with collectables, art, architecture books, magazines, and DVDs.
The restoration project of the Eppstein House started in the fall of 2016, and was finished in December 2017. The bathrooms are updated, there is climate control in all rooms and a wood stove in the family room, wifi, piles of towels and fresh bed linens. The house is furnished in style, with many original Frank Lloyd Wright pieces, such as the dining table, and other furniture and art pieces from the same time period.
The plumbing and electricity have all been brought up to standard with the 21st century, and provides on-demand hot water.
Don't let the period looks of the kitchen fool you, it has all conveniences, such as a silent Bosch dishwasher and a microwave.
The family room is equipped with a record player, a nice vintage vinyl collection, and a small screen with dvd-player on which Frank Lloyd Wright themed, and other DVDs can be seen.
The Eppstein House was featured in more than 150 articles worldwide, in the NY Times, Mansion Global, ArchDaily, Trystcraft, Dwell, and many other newspapers, magazines and blogs.
The home is registered on both the National Register of Historic Places and the Frank Lloyd Wright Conservancy.

With the exception of a few private closets, guests have access to the entire house. No camper vans or mobile homes are allowed at The Acres.
The house is not suitable for children between 1 and 14.

We prefer groups no larger than 4. Occasionally we do accept groups of 5 or 6, but only after discussing some of the details of your visit. Feel free to inquire!
After 20 years of neglect, the house has now been restored from top to bottom to its former glory... and beyond! The house is furnished with original Frank Lloyd Wright furniture and other rare pieces, with respect for the time period. The bedrooms have excellent memory foam mattresses and bed linen, throughout the house is floor heating, air conditioning in every room, a wood stove in the family room, and a pile of firewood outside. The Eppstein House has two living rooms! Unlike some other Frank Lloyd Wright rentals the house will be completely yours for the time that you rent it. You do not share with others and there will be no visitor tours during your stay. You will have access to all rooms, and you may use the kitchen and laundry room as well. There are three terraces around the house with garden furniture, where you can sit and relax and enjoy the views of unspoiled forest and greenery around you. The terrace furniture will not be out in the winter season.

My husband and I love to travel to far away countries and to experience different cultures. We try to combine exploring new places with our other hobby: architecture and design. What we love about Airbnb is that it gives travellers a chance to stay at very personally designed places. Buying and restoring a Frank Lloyd Wright house was a dream come true. To us the house is a piece of art. We researched and investigated Wright's buildings and designs, the time period, and the materials. And took great care to apply this knowledge to the restoration. The entire process, which took 18 months and a crew of craftspeople, was educational as well as great fun. We're extremely happy to be able to share the end product with other architecture enthusiasts.
