Welcome to our lovely, fully equipped, modern chalet with little hot tub, situated on the edge of farmland in beautiful South East Cornwall. This area is stunningly quiet and peaceful. We are a short drive to sandy beaches, rolling moorland, National Trust properties and the thriving Ocean city of Plymouth. The nearest pub is a 5 min drive or if you prefer to walk, bring a torch for a starlit return! We have farmed here for over 80 years! Come and share our secret place!

This beautiful, modern chalet is fully equipped and has one double bedded room with a large en-suite shower room. There is a kitchen/ diner with lounge area and double doors facing onto our farmland. The lodge is equipped with washing machine, tumble dryer, full sized oven, large refrigerator and dishwasher. There is a small Miami Lay Z Spa hot tub which will be inflated and ready for your use. The hot tub is conveniently sited just outside the bedroom door on the large decking area which surrounds the chalet. Because of the hot tub we are not able to accommodate toddlers or walking babies! One babe in arms is welcomed and there is a spare room for you to place your own travel cot and belongings. There is also a further shower room. Please note there is no bath. There is a grassed area with sunbeds for you to use and a small portable barbecue for your use. If it is very sunny we can loan you a gazebo to provide shade!

Guests have complete freedom to use the whole chalet/lodge. There is an outside decking area and small area of grass out of the front where guests can use takeaway barbecues. There is place to park right next to the lodge.

The chalet is south facing and in the summer the sun can pour in! This is lovely but the chalet can get quite warm. Being Britain we do not have air conditioning! We will however lend you fans if you get too warm! If it gets too cold you have radiators to keep you warm! The hot tub is lovely but it is small and inflatable. In very cold or wet weather we reserve the right to switch it off for your safety and to prevent the pump from being damaged We will contact you as soon as we know this might happen but we will make every effort to keep it open where possible. We welcome all. The host was an English teacher, teaching all nationalities for many years. Private lessons can be arranged if you want to practise your English! Just let me know in advance.
Please note there is currently no internet access in the chalet.
Most attractions are within easy driving distance from Little Lodge. A car is highly recommended to visit these attractions although there is a bus service from Tideford. Tideford is a 15 to 20 minute walk away and is along narrow, winding country lanes. it is highly advisable to wear light clothing and take a torch to warn drivers you are there at night.

Penny’s home is located in Tideford, Cornwall England, United Kingdom.
It is so quiet here that sound travels for miles!! You can hear the horses in neighbouring fields and cows mooing. We are 5 minutes drive from the main route from Devon into deepest Cornwall so we are a good stop off point for people travelling down from the north who want to later continue to southern Cornwall. However, once here you will probably want to stay! It is one of the most beautiful parts of Cornwall with undulating hills, sandy beaches and even moorland. Yet we are also only 20 minutes drive to the thriving Ocean city of Plymouth with everything it has to offer, for example the historic Barbican and Hoe, the Theatre Royal, large cinema complex, large shopping centres, restaurants and clubs and pubs. There are numerous attractions in the locality but car hire is highly recommended. We are in a very quiet spot and there are no large attractions within walking distance! Do not choose us if you are looking for lively, noisy attractions just up the road! We like to support all our local businesses. Milk can be delivered to your door in old fashioned milk bottles from cows from our neighbours' farm! Let us know if you would like a delivery.
We are close to the village of Tideford which has an excellent traditional pub and also an excellent butcher's shop which sells not only meat but also hot Cornish pasties. People travel from miles around to visit the butchers and the small but famous traditional Rod and Line Pub where live music is regularly played. The Port Eliot estate is a 10 minute drive away and the Eden Project about 40 minutes drive away. Looe and Polperro are about 25 minutes away. There is a tiny local produce market just up the road on three or four days a week. Waitrose and Morrison's supermarkets are 10 minutes drive and all the local supermarkets deliver.

We try to welcome our guests on arrival but if you arrive when we are unable to be there we have a key stored in a safety box for you to access. Our preferred check in time is after 3pm and before 9. Later check in times are not usually a problem. We will pop in and see you at a mutually convenient time to run through the use of the hot tub and other details and then leave you in as much peace as you wish to be left in! We can provide lots of suggestion for places to visit and things to do. Our home is tucked away behind the chalet and there is usually someone there to answer any queries.
