Le Tournesol Chambre d'Hote offers an idyllic retreat for a relaxed weekend away or the opportunity to immerse yourself in French culture in the heart of the Gers.
Take advantage of the slower pace of life here in SW France, walking the footpaths across the open countryside and the feeling of space and calm that brings.
Room 1: “L’Auroue”

I love the slower pace of life here in SW France,
walking the footpaths across the open countryside and feeling of space and calm that brings.
I also love my courtyard garden, cooking and spending time with friends & family.
My all time favourite movie is Truley madly deeply with Juilet Stevenson & Alan Rickman.
& my all time favourite destination is the volcanic island Santorini, where I went as a young teenager.
This XVII century stone built town house was once a terrece of four tiny cottages, now Le Tournesol my spacious and welcoming Chambers d'hotes, the perfect base to explore the surrounding area from.
Hiking & cycling are both a joy here as we have no noisy auto routes or heavy industries.
The area is predomantly arable farming, with winter wheat & barley, followed by summer crops of maize and the ever spectacular fields of sunflower.
Through out the year the markets are full of locally grown produce, including
tomatoes, apricots, cherries, melons, figs, apples & pears, honey & eggs, duck & pork meat.
Here in Saint-Clar we even have our famous annual garlic festival, or 'fete de l'ail'.
The country side is dotted with beautiful villages, each with its own individual charm and mystery.
Tiny stone built Churches & village squares, cafes with sun drenched terraces, & the tantalisingly snell of freshly baked bread coming from the boulangerie.
I hope I've inspired you to stay here at Le Tournesol and experience the area for yourselves & look forward to welcoming you soon.
