Creative retreat, feels like a tree house with tree top view. Private Carriage House at back of garden property. Neighborhood is multi-cultural, middle-class, cul-de-sac ideally located for getting around LA. Off-street parking.
The carriage house offers very good size, sunlight, charm and location. Judalon is also earnest in her desire to provide a positive experience for her guests. The property does have a few limits that are good to be aware of: 1) the no guest of a guest policy could be an issue fo…
Stacy, thank you for your input even though your daughter was the guest staying here. The "no unregistered guests" is clearly stated and as explained to you and Brynne it has to do with insurance and consideration and safety of my other guests. I know that up until I put my foot down (3 weeks into the stay)about this rule being broken everything was "perfect" and wonderful according to you based on your daughters input. As for the neighborhood cats, I can not control where they roam and understand they like my yard for the serenity, quiet and absence of a dog. I'm here and have never seen 12+ cats lounging in the driveway; 2-4 now and then. I only have 1 cat that actually belongs on the property. None of them look like strays and all seem healthy, a couple of them I know for a fact belong to neighbors. I'm sorry, but animals and children seem to gravitate to me. As for the AC, even for the 20 years I had full-time renters they did not have AC nor did they complain about being too hot because we almost always have a breeze that comes off the ocean. So as long as you open the windows it's nice. Brynne wasn't even here during the days because of her internship, and on weekends was off to the beach or other adventures, as are the majority of my guests. But yes, if someone lives in an AC environment 24/7 they most likely would not be comfortable without it if they plan to spend all day inside with the windows closed.
We had a great stay at this beautiful Carriage house. Judalon is very kind host, she has provided the house with everything you may need during your stay at LA, even more! It was so nice to find not only towels, but beverages, snacks and overviews of interesting places nearby wi…
The carriage house is exactly what it seems to be by the description, I don't know how to work the public transportation system works here, so we got a rental car. The parking spot for us is small, but we were able to fit our Yaris pretty easily! The bed was comfy, sheets clean. …
Thank you again for the thoughtful gift. Yes, I usually tell people the secret to the water at check in, so if I forgot and you discovered it on your own I apologize. I'm glad you appreciate our animal rescue efforts, but just want to clarify that other than my own cat & his best pal none of them interact with guests & it would be rare for a guest to get close enough to have contact as they scatter even from me. So, unless you are here during the 1 time a day I put food out, when even my neighbors cat stops by for an extra nibble, it's unusual to see more than 2-4 relaxing in the sun. Also, I'm allergic so I do not allow pets inside any guest spaces.
Judalon was a great Responsive host. Just be aware that there are 10+ cats in the yard at all times and her no-guest policy.
Thanks William I do try to be sensitive to my guests needs. My guest policy is clearly stated in my page, you agreed to it prior to booking and I think you will agree that I didn't say no to any of your visitors until my trust was violated by Victor having an unapproved overnight guest that I did not agree to. The cats are not my cats and I can't really control the fact that I have one of the few yards without a dog so have become sort of the local sanctuary. I wasn't aware that you had a problem with them and wish you had let me know. I do mention them in my page, but other than my cat Suki & 1 other that seems to belong to a neighbor the others do not interact with people, they scatter. My guest houses are pet-free spaces because my grandchildren have allergies.
I'm a writer and like most creative people I do many things. My passion for travel lead me to become a travel host for a travel club. I'm a nationally certified EMT for movies and TV, and if that isn't enough I'm also a professional supervised child visitation monitor. I grew …
