The historic neighborhood of Exarcheia is lined up with several shops, cinemas, traditional and modern cafes, hip bars, quaint restaurants and taverns, gourmet food stores and super markets, as well as hairdressers and barber shops. Various important monuments and sights, including the National Archaeological museum are also close by, while Athens' most famous fruit market ( a sight in itself!) is being held every Saturday on the parallel street.
