Primitive two-story cabin in nestled in the woods of "The Waltons" stompin' grounds. Short hike in -- no problem for active people. Common area includes dining area, but has room for sleeping bags or basic hammocks (by request.) Each floor is 11' x 12', although loft ceiling slopes. Loft accessible by fixed ladder. Queen air mattress in loft -- bring your sleeping bags! (Sheets available for $10 fee.) Battery-powered lights for basic lighting. No other electric. NO PLUMBING (water.) NO HEAT.

Our county boasts many vineyards, breweries, distilleries, orchards, and antique stores. We are minutes from Oak Ridge Estate (home of LOCK'N Music Festival), and are near the Blue Ridge Parkway, the Appalachian Trail, Pharsalia Plantation, Crabtree Falls (the tallest waterfall east of the Mississippi), "The Waltons" museum, and 40 minutes from historic Appomattox Courthouse.
*This is a primitive cabin, nestled in thick woods. Please understand that while we try to eradicate any before your arrival, there may be an occasional insect or arachnid or even a couple.

Fire pit available for $10 fee. Fire pit is 2 minute walk from the cabin, near the parking area. Not suitable for grilling, but could be used for roasting hot dogs, marshmallows, or cooking food in foil packets. Notice of usage guidelines must be read and signed prior to use. Fee covers set up, clean up, and wear and tear, so will be charged whether or not you actually use the pit if you have asked to have it available. Bring camp chairs.

Our family has lived here for 15 years and loves to show hospitality. Since we don't use the cabin often, we decided a few years ago to make it available to those wanting to experience the lovely area we live in.
