This is a REMOTE cabin with outstanding views! We ARE off the beaten path approximately 1.3 miles. The property is adjacent to the George Washington National Forest. It is as though you are sitting in the tops of the trees. Truly disconnect from the world and enjoy the peace and serenity our home offers. Hiking, Mountain Biking, Fishing & Hunting are everywhere! Please take a minute to read all the information about our cabin before booking. There is a hot tub available!

Our home has been a getaway for us for many years. It offers seclusion from the outside world. The home boasts a large kitchen with seating for four at the bar where you can prepare dinner and enjoy great conversations. There are views from all of the decks on the home, they stretch along five sides. We have TV with dvd player. Bring your favorite movies. The home does not have wifi nor are you able to get a cell signal with any reliability. The home has a full HVAC system, though we rarely use the AC. When star gazing, it is as though you can reach out and touch the stars. We are connected to the George Washington National Forest. The trails systems in the area are amazing. We've mapped out mountain bike rides for the beginner to expert level riders. Fishing is not too far away. Native Brook Trout are in many of the creeks. Trails around the cabin are not part of the public trail system and are not marked very well. These have been mainly used by local hunters to access the National Forest. You are most welcome to hike behind the cabin and into the National Forest. For hikes with marked trails you would want to make a short drive from the cabin to areas such as Elkhorn Lake, Todd Lake, Braley Pond, Ramsey's Draft, The Breastworks, Elliot's knob.
Covid has made having DVD's and games available to our guests difficult. We cannot clean all the pieces parts in between stays. Therefore, they are not out in the living room. If you wish to play games or watch our DVD's they are located in the Master Bedroom closet. These are to be used at your own risk. Please replace them where you find them prior to departing.

You can access George Washington National Forest right from our property.
Caution - The road to our home is a private drive, ok drive might be a stretch. It is a shared private road that is made of stone and dirt. It has been maintained okay over the years but it can be difficult at times to navigate. We suggest all wheel drive, four wheel drive vehicles or at the bare minimum, front wheel drive vehicles. We can access the cabin in my wife's 2011 Civic with little trouble. Please expect a rougher road than state maintained roads. The solitude and views are worth the drive.

The home is off the beaten bath. The road to the home can be a challenge at times. It is 1.3 miles from the hard surface to the base of our driveway, though it may feel longer it is not. Four wheel drives are not required but helpful. Front wheel drive sedans will make it to the base of our driveway (approximately 200 feet long). My wife's Honda Civic made it to our cabin without question for several years. The cabin DOES NOT HAVE WIFI and does not have RELIABLE cell service. Within 15 minutes you can be in an area (towards Churchville) that has cell reception.
