Upon arrival at Katie’s house, we were pleased that a combination lockbox allowed us to let ourselves in without having to wait for the owner to meet us. The house is conveniently located to many local businesses, including Starbucks (less than a mile) and a grocery store (1 mile away.) The house is quite spacious and the beds are comfortable. The towels are thick and absorbent, and appear, along with the bed linens, to be new. It was a treat to have cloth napkins, instead of paper. Katie supplied bath soap, shampoo, and plenty of toilet paper. The wifi worked very well.
However, there are no floor or table lamps, only ceiling lights, which makes reading a book difficult. There is no microwave. We paid a $50 cleaning fee, which is exorbitant, considering the place clearly was not cleaned very well before our arrival, and the instructions asked us to take out the trash. We paid $135 per night. For that price, we could have stayed at one of the hotels in town. We would have paid no cleaning fee, our trash would have been taken out after we vacated the room, and we would have had access to a microwave. We hope that future guests will find that these deficiencies have been rectified.
