Dear Paul Couture of Chapel Hill, NC, Your stay with us here in our beloved Canal House is part of the Airbnb experience: to live like a local, with locals in or near their homes. Most people enjoy to acquaint themselves with the historic center of The Hague surrounded by art, antiques, and architecture from the 1850's.The Netherlands is the MOST DENSELY POPULATED country on the European continent which means we live like sardines, everything is small, energy is expensive (US$ 16,00 a gallon for gas!), and YES you pay for laundry, cause you use detergent, energy and the machine. All washing machines are washing machines. Yes towels are a bit rough because we air-dry our laundry. Check in time is similar to that of a hotel at 12:00 and if you want to come later, I'm flexible. Tourist tax is different in every city and it is not included in the airbnb price. This is specifically mentioned TWICE in my description. IKEA products enable hosts like me, to easily replace broken items without sentimental despair. IKEA has global success for democratizing stylish design in an affordable way.
