They arrived with no transport. Picking people up from the airport and supplying meals is not something l normally do but agreed this time as there are no restaurants in our village. I bought food and wine in preparation for their meals and when they asked for olive oil to dip the bread into left over from breakfast for their lunch l was amazed but gave them some. I had previously given them crackers, cheese and tomatoes as a goodwill gesture when they arrived as l felt sorry for them. They never had or wanted meals from me but were happy to use my plates and cutlery after buying produce from the local shop. We lent them two bikes to use but they spent most of their days in and out of the house slamming doors or monopolizing the pool to the extent the people in the Gite wouldn't use the pool. They encouraged the cat onto the garden table saying they loved animals even when l told them it wasn't allowed. Slight exaggeration over the antique spoon episode which went missing from the breakfast table last morning and when asked if they had seen it they said no but it mysteriously appeared in the lavender bush next to the table. Honor was a pleasant girl but her friend was arrogant to the point of rudeness. I was glad to see them leave.
