My personal refuge from Silicon Valley stress. In the Historical Center of Rieti, a charming central Italy medieval town, is part of a 16th century building, in 1830 remodeled as a theater. Restructured in 1998, not perfect but comfortable & charming
This is my personal refuge in Italy when I go back home. My family owned it for almost 170 years. The kernel is a 16th century ancient building, some walls are even older since we found frescos dated back to the 14th century. Owned by the Corona counts till 1830, it was acquired to remodel it in a outdoor theater. When the theater went out of business in the mid 19th century, my family ancestors bought it. I restructured this apartment in 1998 right before moving to US. The place is not perfect and requires some extra work. I still have to mount some appliqués so in some rooms bulbs are hanging from the wall and furnitures are the one I put together over the years. Nevertheless the place is cozy, welcoming and charming. The architecture and the layout are comfortable with cotto on the floor and exposed wooden/bricks roof . There is an amazing view of the old theater auditorium floor and boxes (now a terrace) just recently renovated. Also from the window you'll be able to see S. Domenico bell tower which is the biggest church of the town.
The apartment features a huge main bedroom with a Double bed, a smaller bedroom with a Double bed too, one in-room bathroom with shower, one bathroom with hot tub and double sink, living room with dining table and fireplace, and kitchen with super high ceiling. There is also an office, but I will reserve it for my personal stuff storage. There is a LED TV with SKY service in the living room and a small LCD TV in the main bedroom for free TV channels. WiFi is available and complementary.
You will have the place for yourself. You'll pick up the keys from my parents who live downstairs and you'll be on your own. No breakfast is provided, but you can prepare your own in the kitchen.
