Near the beautiful Ashokan Reservoir, this lovely sun-drenched two-bedroom cottage on 18 acres of unspoiled woods is the perfect all-season getaway. It sleeps four comfortably: One bedroom has twin beds, the other a double.
The full kitchen has a fridge, dishwasher, gas stove, coffee maker, electric teakettle, Kitchen Aid mixer, microwave, toaster, dishes, flatware, and
everything else you'll need to enjoy your stay.
The cottage has its own phone as cell service is spotty up here.
Wireless Internet lets you use your laptop in the bedrooms or on the deck which has a new retractable awning with privacy screen. On the deck is an outdoor dining table and Weber grill (supplied with charcoal).
In summer, there’s access to a splendid (and newly heated!) 25x50 -foot
saltwater pool--perfect for swimming laps.
During the summer months, guests are invited to pick fresh produce from our organic vegetable garden: lettuce, tomatoes, zucchini, haricot vert and more will be available plus many fresh herbs.
For inside entertainment, there’s a 32” Sony HDTV, DVD player (with a collection of films), ROKU for Netflix, a full wall of hardcover novels and nonfiction books. A gas stove makes winter nights especially cozy.
The property’s official greeter is Daphne, our Yellow Lab, who loves visitors. Well-behaved dogs are welcome, as are children. Our general policy is to not be intrusive and let guests enjoy the property on their own. But should you need anything or have a question, the main house is close by.
Cottage is nearby to hiking, biking and skiing. Having a car is a necessity.
Just down the road-- a little over a mile, is The Country Inn, one of the nicest restaurants in the area featuring locally grown food plus 200 kinds of beer.
The cottage is 20 minutes from Stone Ridge, which has an excellent food market (Emmanuel’s) a wine store (Stone Ridge Wines & Spirits), pizza (Benny’s) and a Rite Aid. We're also 20-30 minutes from Accord which has an excellent farm stand--Saunderskill's, Phoenicia, High Falls, Rosendale, Woodstock and Kingston. All these towns have good restaurants.
Within walking distance up County Road 2 is Tetta’s, a general store where you can get basics like milk, ice, OJ, gas or anything else you forgot to pick up in town.
No smoking in the cottage, please.
