Our open, private, & light-filled studio is 4 miles from downtown life and mere steps from hiking trails. It has everything: laundry, WiFi, kitchen, on-site parking, and a sitting porch. The perfect spot for a getaway full of peace and loveliness. Price includes occupancy taxes.
Traveling for outdoor adventure? Business? Urban exploration? Come home to this quiet studio that rests at the foot of Lookout Mountain on 16 wooded acres. A breezeway separates the studio from the main house. We are walking distance (about 2/10 miles) to the Sunset Rock and Skyuka Springs trails, and very short drives to the famous Rock City and Ruby Falls. We are 4 miles from downtown, 5 miles to the Tennessee River Place, and 7 miles from Covenant College. All around us is more hiking, world-class rock climbing and hang gliding, running trails, kayaking, paddle boarding, independently-owned local restaurants, an art museum and galleries, as well as live music.
On site: hiking trails, vegetable gardening (in season), fire pit with plenty of split wood, tree swings, canoe and kayaks for rent at $10/each. Tell me your interests ahead of time and I'll make sure we are set up for you.
I love meeting new people, introducing them to our amazing family of six, and can make plenty of recommendations for food and fun.
We have an outside chocolate lab who is friendly and our children play in our large yard a fair amount of the time--occasionally, they are joined by friends. The studio sleeps 2, additional guests $5 each. Air mattress upon request, also an additional $5.
Staying: Our peaceful setting lends itself to quieter guests, but we encourage conversation, music, a hike around our property, a glass of wine on the porch or s'mores by the fire pit. No smoking, no pets. Please refrain from foul language if children are in the immediate vicinity. Check out is at 11am eastern time on your final morning.
Communicating: All messages should be handled through the airbnb site before, during, and after the stay. They will go straight to my phone; that is the best and quickest way to contact me. Please download the app to your phone if you will not have access to a computer.
You could call me a creative, on-the-go momma bear of four. I love classic literature, thrift stores, and world music. We just returned from glorious trip to Iceland and are getting ready for our second trip to New Zealand. I am always learning more about plants, ancient history, geography, and how to be a better mom. I'm an amicable, but privacy-respecting host.
