Your own private apartment embraces you in a warm old-world atmosphere, a home away from home. A wall filled with good books to read. Hydronic heating throughout. Fast internet.
Only a five-minute walk away, famous Acland St buzzes with restaurants, bars, cafés (including four iconic European cafés). But the apartment is very quiet and secure, away from noise and crowds. The beach over the road is never crowded, unlike the famous St Kilda beach five minutes walk away.
Built in 1895 and heritage-listed in St Kilda, this lovely period apartment is one of only nine, set back from the road in a former grand late-Victorian family home.
With its thick double-brick walls and very high ceilings, the apartment is cool in summer. The bedroom receives no direct sunshine. Moveable fan for occasional heat-waves. Hydronic heating in all rooms for winter.
The apartment has Victorian features and decor in keeping with that era. It comprises sunny living room (tv, ipod4/5/android dock), large bedroom (firm queen bed, plenty of hanging space and drawers, low-allergy woollen duvet), fitted kitchen with dishwasher and microwave, bathroom with shower (no bathtub), separate toilet.
Your own balcony at the front catches the sun from early morning to late afternoon. Huge blind can provide shade over the entire balcony on hot days.

A cosmopolitan bayside suburb close to Melbourne, St Kilda boasts a diverse population, restaurants, cafés and shops. Melburnians love to come to famous Acland St at the weekend for a coffee and cake or an ice cream and historic Luna Park, both a 5-minute walk around the corner.
5-minute walk to the Sunday Arts and Crafts Market and the historic Palais Theatre.
5-minute walk to the quirky communal "Veg Out" garden, open daily, with a Farmers Market on the first Saturday of the month in the adjacent Peanut Farm Reserve. Thursday night market on the grass beside Luna park during the summer (food, crafts, etc).
10-minute walk to the beautiful St Kilda Botanic Gardens.
Across the road (which is a section of the Melbourne Marathon course) is a quiet beach, with city skyline views. A jetty separates it from the main St Kilda beach, a 5-minute walk further along. The nightly viewing of fairy penguins at sunset on historic St Kilda pier is a 15-20 minute walk away. Wonderful view from the pier and kiosk of the city skyline across the moorings of the Royal Melbourne Yacht Squadron.
10-minute walk towards the pier for water sports hire, bike hire and gym with an indoor 50m salt water pool and plunge pool. 5-minute walk to parachute jumping in Elwood park.
The promenade and cycling path stretches north to Port Melbourne and beyond and south to the charming Elwood 'village', Brighton with its much photographed ‘bathing boxes’ and beyond.
