Built in 1894, Rack View was originally a 6 bed family home built by local artisan William ‘Bill’ Andrews. In the 1980’s it was divided into two, the smaller, 2 bed part becoming known as “The Annexe”.
Offering a cosy cottage feel, with all you need for a relaxing break.
Culmstock is a beautiful village on the edge of the Blackdown Hills with the river Culm at its heart. A lively pub and quaint village shop on your doorstep, local river walks and Culmstock Beacon with it’s breathtaking views

The entrance is straight off the driveway and into the good sized country style Kitchen, fully equipped with everything you will need. In the kitchen there is a drop leaf table, chairs and stools. The old aga is still in place, but sadly no longer in use. Onto the living room, a good space with a cosy feel, the log burner is the centre piece of this room! A 3 seater sofa and lovely comfy wing backed arm chair, 32” LED TV with free view and USB capabilities.
Upstairs there are two bedrooms, the first being the master with a king size bed, antique country furniture and great countryside views, the second bedroom has a small double bed with a single bunk over making it very versatile and able to cope with all types of groups and again far reaching views down the valley. The bathroom has everything you would expect, with a shower over the bath.
There is parking for one car and a small “courtyard” garden to the front of the property for guests to enjoy during their stay.
We will allow one well behaved dog, but do not permit pets to be upstairs or on the furniture. Please let us know in advance if you plan to bring a pet.
We have installed USB charging points in all rooms for your convenience.

Culmstock is a beautiful thriving little village, The Culm Valley Inn is a five minute stroll away, it has a lovely large beer garden located right next to the ancient bridge and the river Culm. It is also a great venue for lunch and dinner.
The Strand stores is our village shop and cafe, they serve lots of lovely local produce, and have home baked pasties, sausage rolls and scotch eggs daily. They also serve breakfast and lunch in their cafe.
Culmstock Beacon is about a 30 minute walk and has breathtaking views across Devon and Somerset in every direction.
With the M5 just 5 minute drive away, Culmstock is a great base for sight seeing, both the North and south coasts are about 45 minutes drive. Exeter is 20 minutes away by car.
Tiverton Parkway Station is a short drive away, and if you want to travel by train, then by prior arrangement we will be happy to collect you and bring you back to the property

We live in the other part of the house with our 3 children, 2 dogs and 3 chickens (the chickens live in the garden, don’t worry)
