I live in Nairobi with my husband and 2 daughters. I work in the IT sector and my husband is a farmer, growing roses. Since moving to Kenya, we fell in love with Mombasa and the beautiful beaches there and so decided to get a small, comfortable family home in Shanzu. For a long time, Shanzu was mainly forest but has been getting developed over the last few years. The area that our house is in is still being developed. Most of the roads are still murram. Its a generally quiet area and my husband and I love going for morning and evening jogs everytime we are there. While it is a fairly new area with minimal public amenities, it is very safe and is very close to the Navy base. Its is surrounded by some lovely resorts and has a fun running trail, if nature is your thing. We often take walks along the beach and take our kids for water sports at White Sands, sushi at Misono, seafood at Tamarind Village, or water rides at Wild Waters. We also love visiting Mamba village where we can spend the afternoon with the crocodiles or visit the wildlife at Haller Park. We are so fortunate and blessed to be able to take time out every other month to unwind in one of the best parts of Kenya
