Dating back to the 17th century this completely restored stone village home is tucked away in a quiet Provencal hamlet – nestled in the hills of the beautiful Luberon valley. Les Roux is ideally located for day trips to many of the most beautiful villages in Provence. We supply many books and guides to the surrounding area, including local markets and vineyards. Our property managers live nearby and will orient you to the house; and be happy to provide advice any assistance or guidance to make your stay as enjoyable as possible.
Our home has 2 levels: The ground floor offers a charming living/dining area with fireplace, a fully equipped modern kitchen and a laundry area. Up on the next level is the master bedroom with queen sized bed, armoire and a reading nook. There is a charming single bedroom with daybed and closet. There are 2 patios complete with outdoor lighting and furniture, perfect for dining outside under our 400 year old Oak tree.
The village is a small, quiet, authentic French village in Provence, with spectacular views of vineyards and mountains in the immediate surrounds. This is a peaceful and wonderfully rich part of Provence and offers the authenticity of the French countryside steeped in the history of the region. Situated in the Luberon National Park,
there are many rural activities to be enjoyed -- wine and olive oil tastings, swimming, antique shopping, and visits to medieval villages with their wine cellars and farmers’ markets.
The house is well situated to explore the entire region of Provence. Within one hour to the west are the famous wineries of Chateauneuf du Pape, the cities of Arles and Avignon. To the
north are the hilltop villages of Bonnieux, Gordes and Roussillion, to the east is the striking Gorges of Verdon. To the south is the lovely city of Aix-en-Provence and the Mediterranean with the
city of Marseille and the picturesque fishing villages of Cassis and Bandol. Drive a bit further and you come to the coastal resorts of the Cote d’Azure -- St. Tropez, Cannes, Nice, and Monte Carlo!
In the immediate vicinity of the house explore farmers' and craft markets, a lake where you can swim, castles and many wonderful restaurants in the nearby villages of Ansouis, Lourmarin, Cucuron and Grambois.
