All reviews we take constructively and respect guests feelings and comments and we apologize for the experience you feel you were given. However, in 18 of our 19 reviews thus far, this is the very first slightly negative review we have had and contradicts almost everyone else's experience. However, this will be an attempt to respond to all items:
1)The only complaints we were given upon their arrival were the temperature and that there was hair on the sheets. These were washed the evening before and we are very sorry some hairs stuck to this during the wash and take full responsibility. However, claiming the few hairs we were shown after looking incredibly closely are PUBIC HAIR is a very unfair statement. Michele asked if they wanted these washed only due to the fact she knew she had washed them the night before and had no problem putting them through again. It was a question and not intended to be rude and we are sorry it was taken that way. Mentioning that after she became non-responsive also is completely inappropriate. Michele is an ICU nurse who had just finished a double shift and after the sheets were put in the dryer simply went up to bed to sleep as it was 10pm and she had been up for 24hours. Further to other reviews, she is often the one thanked for her extra kind gestures and never been a complaint.
2)The welcome letter is being referred to as having laws. This has been a highlight for most guests arriving as it provides WIFI, where all cook ware is located, costs and locations of public transit, location of first aid kit and travel recommendations. Through the 50+ Airbnb’s we have stayed at, the items we ask in it are very standard: please lock the door, please put away your dishes and use your own food but always feel free to ask if you want to use something of ours and please hang your towels. None of these have came across as laws but items that ALL hosts expected from a guest in their own house.
3)The AC was not off but set at 77 Celsius. When this was mentioned we turned it lower but like a hotel, if you get to your room and it is too warm your turn it down. Everyone has different comfort levels and we have always welcomed our guests to control this to their comfort level. All of our contact information was in the welcome letter as well and prior to our return home, a quick message would have solved everything.
4)We apologize for the size of the bedroom but there is nothing we can do about this but show the photo of it in the listing.
5)The shampoo, etc… in the bedroom can come across as a bit messy as there is a basket full of all possible toiletry items, as we don’t want our guests to feel they need to go out and buy something. This has also been a big positive in all our other reviews. We apologize you made the assumption about the eye mask, although we replace this each and every time for our guests, as often they are arriving from a long flight and prefer the extra darkness.
6)The toilet lid. We apologize for this and simply was a situation where it broke that morning and with our work schedule we couldn’t get this changed in time. Our apologies.
7)Pubic Hair everywhere. We are very comfortable saying this is an over reaction, as something like this would not be acceptable in our home and if it were, this is something you would see in other reviews. As hosts, we owe it to our guests to respect any complaints and that was followed through and the sheets were washed and replaced.
We appreciate your feedback but to all of our guest’s past and upcoming, please don’t refer to a malicious review that clearly goes against everything we strive for in being hosts and against the experiences every other guests have had at what we consider a beautiful and welcoming Airbnb stay.
