The villa is set off the main road in Penestanan, known as an artist's village since the 1930s, when the German artist Walter Spies lived there. The village is quaint and the people are friendly. You will find several cafes within 2 -5 minutes walk plus yoga studio, spas, shops, laundry and art galleries. A 5 minute taxi (available on main road) or scooter ride will get you to Ubud town centre and we can assist with scooter rental. If you prefer the exercise, enjoy a 20 minute stroll to town.

I fell in love with the village of Penestanan a few years ago and keep going back because the people are so friendly and it is such a special place. I regard it as my spiritual home and a place where I feel peace and a deep connection with nature and all it's glory. I love the simplicity of life in Ubud and the respect people show each other every day. It is far away from peak hour rush of Melbourne and there are no deadlines in Penestanan. I love it so much plan on retiring there in the future.
