The location of this property is so private and peaceful. You are surrounded by a maritime forest on 3 sides and a bay on the other. There is not another house in sight, yet you are only a few minutes from downtown Beaufort. The host has thought of everything in the unit. Towels and bed linens were so soft and comfortable. The room itself is very spacious with more than enough room for two and having a small kitchenette makes your stay so much the better for lazy mornings. The host lives on the property, it is her house, but with the private entrance to the room above the garage, you don't really know the family is there. Its as if you are on your own little island.
We arrived at Barbara and Eddy's Beaufort Cottage for two after a frustrating day of travel to find just the sweetest, most charming little home away from home you could imagine. We very much appreciated the chocolate left for us, and a listing of area restaurants and places to visit. The weather was unseasonably cold for that area of North Carolina, and we were pleased that the apartment stayed cozy and warm and that there was plenty of hot water! Another nice thing was that Barbara and Eddy had left some OJ, eggs and English Muffins in the refrigerator for us so we did not have to immediately go out and shop for breakfast items. The bed was great, and there were several comfortable places to sit with lamps for reading, which we really appreciated.
