Blockley is a popular village in the Cotswolds which is found within a triangle formed by three renowned market towns: Chipping Campden to the North, Moreton-in-Marsh to the South East and Stow-on-the-Wold to the South. Being close to these three towns has led to increased footfall in the village, bringing with it good quality pubs and a lovely village shop/café. As the village is away from main roads, it avoids the heavy tourist traffic and so visitors can get a real sense of rural life, enjoying the rolling countryside which falls within the Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The peaceful Blockley Brook attracts tourists and locals as a quiet place to relax in the warmer months. This brook, together with the other brook in the village, played a part in Blockley's history as there were once 12 water mills which provided work in various industries over the centuries, including silk production and flour milling. Architecturally the village has quite a different character in comparison to the rest of the North Cotswolds as it has a more similar style to that of the villages in the Stroud valley, but here they have used a more golden stone. This design is reminiscent of wealthier times as the majority of the cottages were built during the 17th and 18th century, at the height of the industrial era. A popular attraction in Blockley is Mill Dene Garden which is a partner garden of the Royal Horticultural Society. With a misty grotto, stream and seats around the mill pond, this is a lovely place to while away the time looking out for the kingfishers whilst enjoying a cream tea. Food & Drink For a relatively small village, Blockley is blessed with a number of places to eat and drink, all just a short walk from anywhere in the village. The Crown Inn (www.crownhotelblockley.co.uk): This 16th century country inn is situated in the heart of Blockley and features a restaurant serving dishes prepared with local produce, along with a bar with an open fire and a wide selection of real ales. This honey coloured historic inn is covered in Virginia creeper which turns a stunning red in Autumn. Walk inside to the scents of wood smoke from the open log fires and snuggle into a comfy chair by the fire, to view the daily papers with a coffee or something stronger. Dinner is served in the warm and friendly restaurant with lighter meals and snacks available in the bar. The Great Western Arms (https://www.hooky.co.uk/content/our-pubs/great-western-arms-blockley.ashx): The award winning Great Western Arms is the “Local” of Blockley. The “Western” as it is locally known, is a Hook Norton Brewery pub and is tenanted to Sharon Brace. It is right at the heart of the village both geographically and socially, and is where Sharon and her team serve up some of the finest food, drink and entertainment available. The pub has two rooms: one is used as the restaurant and the other houses a pool table, juke box and darts board (dogs are welcome in the pool room). The Pub has recently been extensively refurbished and now boasts 1st class facilities and comforts. The spacious lounge bar/restaurant retains its period "feel" but has been re-furnished and decorated with great taste and care. The atmosphere is warm, welcoming and friendly. Blockley Village Shop & Café (blockleyshop.com): The community owned shop and café is the hub of the village. The shop offers a wide range of basic groceries and necessities, and a tempting array of local products, including farm meat and free-range eggs, daily deliveries of local fruit and veg, freshly baked bread and locally made ready meals. Logs are generally stocked in winter. The licensed café is open all day, serving breakfasts, lunches, coffees and teas, and home-baked cakes. Take-away hot and cold food, including croissants, pastries and baguettes, is also very popular. The café, where free broadband is available, is a popular meeting place for locals and visitors of all ages.

Alice Cottage is one of a handful of cottages set on a small quiet lane, yet only moments from Blockley's historic high street. There is one shared parking space in front of the cottage and additional, free street parking is readily available. A path through the garden leads to the front door, which opens into the sunroom and the rest of the ground floor: Sunroom: South facing and looking out to the garden, with exposed stone walls and a clear roof, this is a lovely room to relax in, whatever the season. Contains a wooden table and two chairs; Living room/dining room/kitchen: The heart of this cosy cottage, the living room area contains comfy seating for three people, a wood burning stove and an LED HD Freesat TV, with DVD player. There is a fold away table, for formal dining. The kitchen area is very efficiently and practically arranged, and includes a 2-ring electric hob, electric oven, Smeg fridge/freezer, microwave, Miele washing machine/tumble dryer, toaster and kettle. There is also a radio with an iPod dock. Stairs lead up from the kitchen area to a small first floor landing, off which are the following rooms: Master bedroom: Contains a double bed and plenty of storage space. There is also a radio with an iPod dock; Bedroom 2: A small room, which contains a 75cm wide single bed and a bedside cabinet with drawers; Shower room: Although small, the bathroom has been well designed, to include a shower, small basin and toilet. Alice Cottage's small, enclosed garden is well proportioned with a raised terrace to take advantage of the lovely far reaching rural views and to provide a beautiful south facing outdoor seating area, with a table, wooden bench, two chairs and a charcoal BBQ.

An allocated parking space is provided and there is free on-street parking available in the town if required.
Chipping Campden is one of the main market towns in the North Cotswolds, built by medieval traders with wealth created from the wool trade. With many thatched cottages, this is one of the most picturesque towns in the region. A notable feature of the town is the Market Hall which was built in 1627. Originally thought to be used in the wool trade, the main function of the hall was actually to give shelter to local cheese, poultry and butter sellers. The High Street is relatively small, taking just five minutes to walk from one end to the other, and it has a number of well-regarded eateries ranging from tea houses to dining pubs and restaurants. This main street curves in a shallow arc which is flanked on both sides by terraces of ancient houses, each house having its own embellishments. This feature of the town is one of the reasons why, in 1970, the street was officially designated as a conservation area. Chipping Campden marks one end of the Cotswolds Way which is a 102 mile National Trail linking Chipping Campden to Bath. For the majority of the trail it follows the Cotswold escarpment which gives the walker fantastic views of the surrounding scenery. The Way passes through many traditional villages and close to historical sites including Sudeley Castle near Winchcombe and Hailes Abbey. The countryside along the Way is very diverse, ranging from wildflower meadows to beech woodlands, providing visitors with perfect examples of Britain's stunning landscape. Chipping Campden has numerous places to eat and drink, with a range of cuisines and prices to suit most tastes and budgets. The list below is a small sample of the range of options available: The Kings Hotel (www.kingscampden.co.uk): Modern British food with a contemporary twist. You will encounter mouth-watering choices like a starter of Duck Rillets with a Pea Panna Cotta & Pomegranate dressing, or main course of Braised Belly Pork & Fillet, Crispy Langoustine Tail, Roasted Apple, Celeriac Choucroute & Dauphinoise Potato. To finish, the dessert menu promises blissful indulgence with the likes of Caramel Banana Mousse, Pain D’epice & Coffee Soil. For a more informal option, relax in the friendly atmosphere of the stylishly refurbished Brasserie bar, serving morning coffee & brunch through to afternoon tea & dinner. Enjoy favourites such as Mussels in Garlic & White Wine, Home-made Aberdeen Angus Burger, Focaccia, Smoked Bacon & Tomato Relish with Fries; Cotswold House Hotel (www.cotswoldhouse.com): The kitchen team take their inspiration from the finest offerings of dedicated producers - whether it be wholesome crusty breads, locally-churned cheeses, home-reared meats, best Cornish fish, vegetables from the lush Vale of Evesham, or jams and preserves from small-scale artisan producers. The result? The very best of modern British cooking. Wonderful, simple food served at lunch and dinner in The Cotswold Grill or at dinner in The Dining Room at Cotswold House. On warm days, enjoy a drink, coffee, or lunch on the Pavilion Terrace tucked away in the hotel garden, its borders awash with summer colour. Sit under a shady umbrella and enjoy the peace and quiet from morning coffee to your early evening sun-downer; Michael’s Mediterranean Restaurant(www.michaelsmediterranean.co.uk): Specialising in Greek and modern Mediterranean cuisine, served in a relaxed, intimate setting. Wine and dine in relaxed surroundings, with the warm ambience of open fires and a friendly service. From a delightful array of Mezze dishes, fresh fish and seafood with seasonal daily specials to the renowned “Marathona” Fillet Steaks.

Food & Drink For a relatively small village, Blockley is blessed with a number of places to eat and drink, all just a short walk from anywhere in the village.

Food & Drink Chipping Campden has numerous places to eat and drink, with a range of cuisines and prices to suit most tastes and budgets.

Two stone steps lead up to the summer house which looks down the driveway and across to the neighbouring farmland and 12th century church. Equipped with heating, electricity and a spacious bamboo seating area, the summer house is another wonderful area in which to unwind after days spent exploring the Cotswolds. The gated driveway provides off-street parking for up to two small cars, and further on-street parking is available on the lane.
The Cotswolds are characterised by attractive small towns and villages, built of the underlying Cotswold stone (a yellow oolitic limestone). In the Middle Ages the wool trade made the Cotswolds prosperous and some of this money was put into the building of churches, leaving the area with a number of large handsome Cotswold stone "wool churches". The area remains affluent, which has encouraged the establishment of many high quality pubs, restaurants and antique shops.

With a misty grotto, stream and seats around the mill pond, this is a lovely place to while away the time looking out for the kingfishers whilst enjoying a cream tea.

Food & Drink Chipping Campden has numerous places to eat and drink, with a range of cuisines and prices to suit most tastes and budgets.

Heart of the Cotswolds, stone-built cottage in the centre of beautiful Blockley village. Set over three floors, the cottage offers a top floor garden view double room with ensuite bathroom. A tranquil retreat with Blockley brook running by. The hill top garden area overlooks the rooftops of the village served by local shop/cafe and pub (good food!) There are wonderful walks from the village in all directions with inspiring views and unspoilt Cotswolds towns and villages in the surrounding area.
I'm new to AirBnB hosting but not new to meeting new people which is a constant in the music industry!
This village is unique amongst the Cotswold locations in that it feels truly cut away from everything in its setting yet is only a short drive away from its neighbouring villages. The long downhill approach into Blockley from Boughton-on-the-hill always gives me a warm sense of returning to a truly peaceful place surrounded by lush country hills and a feint gentle breeze brushing the many huge trees in this area. In days gone by Blockley brook once provided a thriving silk mill community. My favourite landmark must be the Broadway Tower five minutes drive away: on a clear day one can view right across the Severn valley to Wales.

Broadway is a beautiful village in the North Cotswolds, steeped in history and surrounded by stunning countryside. The village gets its name from the wide street, or broad way, that runs through the centre which was once the main road from Worcester to London. This attractive High Street is bordered with chestnut trees and honey coloured stone cottages dating from the 16th century and is one of the most picturesque villages of the Cotswolds. The broad way is thought to be especially wide because at one time there used to be streams running each side of the main drive. These streams were eventually hidden in underground pipes where they would emerge at 'dipping' points, but sadly they are now almost completely invisible. The village has artistic links with famous dwellers including J.M. Barrie, Mary Anderson and William Morris, who were drawn to the tranquillity of Broadway. It was here that Morris and John Ruskin pioneered the idea of the Arts and Crafts Movement which made its home in the area and went on to be an international movement. One of the iconic features of the village is Broadway Tower which was built in the late 18th century by the Earl of Coventry. It is said that the tower was erected so that the Countess could see if her Cotswold estate was visible from Croome Court in Worcestershire, which it was. The folly stands some 1,024 feet above sea level, making it the second highest point in the Cotswolds after Cleeve Hill. In fact, on a clear day, visitors are able to see 14 counties from the top! William Morris was so taken by the tower that he went on to establish the Society for the Protection of Ancient Buildings in 1877. Food & Drink Broadway has a number of places to eat and drink, with a range of cuisines and prices to suit most tastes and budgets. The list below is a sample of the options available: Russell's (www.russellsofbroadway.co.uk): Head Chef, Neil Clarke, serves modern British food in the award-winning restaurant, with local Vale of Evesham and Cotswold produce featuring throughout the daily-changing menus. The modern, airy dining room is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner, with friendly staff and laid-back service combining to create a relaxed and warm setting, day and night; The Lygon Arms (http://www.thehotelcollection.co.uk/hotels/the-lygon-arms-hotel-cotswolds/): A 17th century minstrel's gallery, a grand open fire and an imposing barrel-vaulted ceiling greet you as you enter The Great Hall, the main dining room of the famous Lygon Arms Hotel. A destination in its own right, people travel miles to enjoy the restaurant's 2 AA Rosettes for excellence sumptuous cuisine and warm friendly service of the highest quality. A few steps across the courtyard, Lukes Bistro offers a relaxing atmosphere serving traditional English cuisine with a contemporary twist, equally as imaginative and as fresh, using ingredients that are grown and reared locally, including a wide range of herbs and plums from the hotel's own orchards; The Potting Shed (www.dormyhouse.co.uk/potting-shed-restaurant): The Potting Shed is everything a Cotswold country dining pub should be. It's relaxed and inviting, with a large leather-and-oak bar and a rustic agenda. This is English pub grub as it ought to be: sticky ribs, great bangers, slow-cooked pork belly and fish that's been caught on our shores. Dress up and enjoy a pre-dinner cocktail, or dress down and bring the kids.

To the side of the cottage, on the ground floor is a further outdoor table, with seating for five, and a charcoal barbecue. Off street parking is freely available directly outside the cottage.

Welcome to Quaint End, brought to you exclusively by Character Cottages, local specialists in stylish, Cotswold holiday rentals. Quaint End is a beautiful, traditional Cotswold stone cottage, dating back to approximately 1840. The cottage is in the lovely, unspoilt North Cotswolds village of Ebrington and is peacefully located on a quiet lane, at the end of a row of three cottages. Ebrington is well known for its award winning local pub, the Ebrington Arms, and also has a local farm shop and café, whilst the famous market town of Chipping Campden is approximately two miles away. Numerous lovely walks can be taken directly from the cottage and all the well known market towns and villages of the North Cotswolds are within easy reach, as are other attractions, such as Stratford-upon-Avon, Oxford and Blenheim Palace. Important Customer Notice: - Special Events: Christmas, New Year and the Cheltenham Horse Racing Festival are Special Events, with bookings typically limited to weeks only from a specific start day If your dates don’t appear to fit, then please click Contact Host below to find out what options may exist for you!
Quaint End is set well back from the road, at the end of a quiet lane. The cottage is accessed via its garden, with the front door opening directly into the kitchen/dining room. The following rooms are on the ground floor: Kitchen/dining room: This sociable, dual aspect room is full of character, including oak beams, a flagstone floor and a lovely Clearview wood burning stove. The stylish and well presented kitchen boasts a range of handmade units and solid oak work surfaces, and contains an Aga, fridge freezer with water dispenser, dishwasher, microwave, hob top kettle and a toaster. There is also a good range of Le Creuset pans and ovenware. The dining area contains a wooden table with four chairs, a lovely three seater sofa, SMART TV and a digital radio with Bluetooth connectivity; Cloakroom: Contains a toilet and a hand basin. Stairs lead up from the kitchen to the first floor landing, off which are the following two rooms: Living room: A lovely, light room, with views across the rooftops of Ebrington, which contains an open fire, handmade oak shelves and cupboards, comfy seating for four and a SMART TV with DVD player; Family bathroom: The Fired Earth fitted bathroom is spacious and has lovely views of Ebrington. It contains a large bath, separate walk-in rainwater shower, toilet, wash basin, underfloor heating and a heated towel rail. Further steep and narrow stairs lead up from the living room to the small second floor landing, which leads to the two bedrooms: Bedroom 1: A lovely dual aspect room, with exposed ceiling rafters and floorboards, two built in wardrobes and a king size bed. There is also a flatscreen TV; Bedroom 2: Another lovely dual aspect room, with exposed ceiling rafters and floorboards, which contains either a super king size bed or two single beds, a small chest of drawers and hanging space. There is an additional outbuilding available to guests in the garden: Laundry room: Contains a washing machine, drying rack and a butler sink. Quaint End's peaceful garden is split level, with both lawned and gravelled areas, and has lovely views across Ebrington. Within the garden is an old well, with a protective metal grid covering, and there is also a picnic table with umbrella, as well as a bench, two deck chairs and a charcoal barbecue. The garden area also includes an off street parking area – guests should be aware that the two neighbouring properties each have a right of way and a parking space within Quaint End's garden.

Elegant charcoal grey wall tiling beautifully complement the mosaic-style flooring creating a relaxing spa-like bathroom finished with thoughtful and luxurious touches, including candles and Pecksniff’s bath soap. Outside One of a row of three cottages, within an attractive modern barn conversion, Stepping Stones is framed by beautiful shared gardens to its front and side with a small, private patio and access to the large shared garden to its rear, affording it a wonderful feeling of privacy. It’s in the back garden where Stepping Stones’ magic really comes alive, thanks to the famous Blockley Brook, which meanders directly along the edge of the rear garden. Stepping Stones’ garden area is small in size but feels much larger thanks to the sweeping village views it benefits from, separated from its neighbouring houses by discreet fencing. Stepping Stones also boasts a small patio area with two bistro-style tables and four seats, accessible via the kitchen’s French doors, making it perfect for al fresco sundowners after a busy day exploring the Cotswolds. A haven for local birds, ducks and wildlife, younger guests will love wiling away the hours paddling at the brook’s shore, whilst older guests can relax on the patio with the gentle sounds of the brook in the background. Dog owners and guests with small children need to note that the garden is not enclosed, and the Brockley Brook is directly accessible.

The front door of Lammas Cottage is accessed directly from the quiet road that the cottage sits on. The property sits on a hill and the front door opens into the ground floor living room. Stairs lead down to the lower ground floor: Kitchen/dining area/sitting room: The cosy heart of the cottage, this open plan area is full of traditional character, including a Cotswold stone wall, exposed oak beams, a flagstone floor and a lovely wood burning stove. The room contains a wooden dining table, with seating for six, and a well laid out kitchen, which contains an electric oven, four ring induction hob, fridge, dishwasher, microwave, kettle and toaster. There is also a comfy sofa and a cosy window seat for relaxing around the wood burning stove. Heading back up the stairs, the ground floor contains the following rooms: Living room: A lovely, dual aspect room, with stone mullion windows, wooden floors, beautiful ornamental fireplace, and cosy windows seats to admire the stunning views from. There is comfy seating for six and a flatscreen TV with a DVD player; Cloakroom: Contains a toilet and wash basin. Steep stairs lead up from the living room to the first floor landing, off which are the following rooms: Bedroom 1: A small, cosy and well presented room, which contains a double bed (accessible from one side only); Bedroom 2: With lovely countryside views, this bedroom is also small and cosy with a double bed (accessible from one side only); Family bathroom: Contains a bath with an overhead shower, toilet and wash basin. Further steep stairs lead up to the second floor and open directly into the third bedroom: Bedroom 3: A cosy room, in the eaves of the cottage, which contains two single beds.

Moreton-in-Marsh is one of the principal market towns in the North Cotswolds, situated on the Fosse Way and served by the main line railway from London Paddington. The town was granted its market charter in 1227 and there still is a busy Tuesday market, with about 200 stalls attracting many visitors. Moreton has been a traveller's town for at least 1700 years and was used as a coaching station before the coming of the Oxford to Worcester railway in 1853. The oldest building is likely to be the 16th century Curfew tower on the High Street, whose bell was rung nightly until 1860 to remind people of the risk of fire. The High Street has many elegant 17th and 18th century inns and houses, including the Redesdale Market Hall in the centre of the town. Food & Drink Moreton has numerous places to eat and drink, with a range of cuisines and prices to suit all tastes and budgets. The list below is a small sample of the range of options available: Redesdale Arms (www.redesdalearms.com): Menus at the Redesdale Arms Hotel are a blend of modern international cooking and traditional British favourites, delicious when given a contemporary twist by the team in the kitchen. Eat in one of the refurbished restaurants, on the garden terrace or in the bar next to the log fires. The finest local ingredients are used, including Cotswold meat and locally grown vegetables, with daily specials including local game and fresh Cornish seafood. The White Hart Royal (www.whitehartroyal.co.uk): The kitchen team use fresh local ingredients to produce cuisine that is contemporary English a la carte or traditional pub classic. To complement the menus there is an extensive cellar of specially selected new and old world wines.
