There are also a wide range of traditional pubs, shops and restaurants, making Bourton perfect for guests of all ages. Bourton-on-the-Water is arguably one of the most popular villages of the Cotswolds, especially amongst overseas visitors. Having been nicknamed the "Venice of the Cotswolds", its scenery is the main draw for travellers. The River Windrush meanders through beautiful English countryside before passing over rapids next to the Old Mill and arriving at Bourton. The river is fed from many springs, with the source approximately ten miles from the village and, after flowing under the bridges of Bourton, it passes other villages before eventually joining the Thames. There are various attractions in the village, including the famous Birdland, which is home to a variety of birds from around the world. Here visitors can see parrots, pelicans, flamingos and penguins to name just a few, with experienced keepers feeding the birds and leading demonstrations. The Model Village is well worth a visit, as Bourton is the only village in the Cotswolds to have a one-ninth scale replica of itself. It is carefully maintained and has all of the characterful buildings including the Old Water Mill and the Old New Inn. Those lucky enough to witness snow in the winter months will notice photographers at the model village trying to get the perfect picture of the snowy scene. Another family favourite is the Dragonfly Maze. This yew maze leads visitors through the labyrinth, gathering clues in order to find the pavilion in the centre which enables them to unlock the final secret! The maze was constructed by Kit Williams, author of the golden hare treasure hunt book, "Masquerade". Food & Drink Bourton has a variety of places to eat and drink, including cafes, tea rooms, pubs and restaurants, with a range of prices to suit all budgets. The list below is a small sample of the options available: The Chester House Hotel and The Croft Restaurant (www.chesterhousehotel.com): Breakfast, morning coffee, lunches and evening meals in a riverside restaurant. You can enjoy freshly prepared, local produce throughout the day and night, with seasonal specials added to the menu daily. The Duke of Wellington (www.dukeofwellingtonbourton.co.uk): A local village inn aiming to provide fresh home cooked food with a friendly service. There is a light snacking menu, a full menu and a wonderful range of desserts and hot beverages. As well as daily home cooked specials, on Sundays you can enjoy a traditional carvery with all the trimmings from 12-6pm. The Mousetrap Inn (www.mousetrap-inn.com): A traditionally run Cotswold stone Inn, with a history dating back to the building of the railways in the 18th Century. Serving home-made food, along with fantastic, locally brewed real ales. The Village Restaurant & Tearooms (www.thevillagerestaurant.co.uk): Traditional, home cooked food in a friendly atmosphere, overlooking the river Windrush, in the heart of Bourton-on-the-Water.

The Kingham Plough is an award wining gastro pub, reviewed by the late AA Gill, the former Sunday Times food critic....." the kitchen is a serious restaurant work place. The bar menu is as fine as any Ive seen, any one thinking of opening a local pub restaurant should come here and see the gold standard ". All are within a short walk from the cottage. Also near by is the renowned Dailsford organic farm and spa. The village is surrounded by beautiful countryside, great for long walks and being the very hart of the Cotswold's, close to many places of historic interest.
Great little village, nestling in the very hart of the Cotswold's, one of England's areas of outstanding natural beauty and historic significance, there is a local village shop/post office, were you can get cash back over the counter, 3 great places to eat or just have a drink, all have nice outside spaces to enjoy in the sunshine and log fires, lovely village green with small play area and public transport. SO A CAR IS NOT ABSOLUTLY NECESSARY.

Welcome to The Sanctuary, brought to you exclusively by Character Cottages, local specialists in stylish, Cotswold holiday rentals. The Sanctuary forms part of a converted church with an enviable position just moments from the market square in the picturesque market town of Stow-on-the-Wold. Sitting on top a hill, surrounded by the stunning Cotswold countryside, Stow is famous for its historic buildings and its wide range of restaurants, traditional pubs and antique shops. It is an ideal base for exploring the region, including the many lovely towns and villages of the Cotswolds, as well as further afield places such as Stratford-upon-Avon, Oxford and Bath. Important Customer Notice: - Special Events: Christmas, New Year and the Cheltenham Horse Racing Festival are Special Events, with bookings typically limited to weeks only from a specific start day If your dates don’t appear to fit, then please click Contact Host below to find out what options may exist for you!
The main door of the building opens into a communal lobby and The Sanctuary’s front door opens into a hallway, off which are the following rooms, all with underfloor heating: Living/dining room/kitchen: This smart open plan living space has been finished to a high standard with wooden floors and a high west-facing window which floods the living area with natural light. There is a sofa bed, a Smart TV with access to Netflix and a DVD player. An extendable wooden table with seating for four divides the living area and kitchen, and the latter has Shaker-style units and is equipped with an electric oven, four-ring induction hob, fridge, toaster, kettle, cafetière, water filter and dishwasher; Cloakroom: Contains a toilet and wash basin. Stairs lead up from the hallway into the master bedroom. The following rooms are on the first floor, both with underfloor heating: Master bedroom: This unique room has a stunning church window and a glass balcony overlooking the living area below. This room contains either two single beds or a king size bed, an elegant chest of drawers, a mirror, a writing desk with a comfy chair and radio; Family bathroom: This stunning space is dominated by the original floor-to-ceiling stone arched window, complemented by smart flooring and stylish tiles. It contains a walk-in rain shower with handheld shower attachment, toilet and wash basin. There is free on-street parking a short walk from the property, and there are pay and display options close by if needed.
Located in the north Cotswolds, Stow-on-the-Wold is one of the principal market towns in the region. The main feature of the town is the historic market square which used to play host to the annual sheep fairs where, at the height of the Cotswold wool industry, up to 20,000 sheep were sold at one time. The market square is steeped in history and has two features which date back to the medieval period. At one end of the square there is the medieval cross which was erected to urge traders to carry out fair business under the eyes of God, and at the far end stand the town stocks which are found in the shadows of the old elm tree. Originally known as Edwardstow or Stow St Edward after the town's patron saint Edward, the town's church is also named after him. The church is just 100 yards from the town square and is a lovely place for locals and tourists alike to get some peace from the bustling market square. The north door is guarded by two yew trees and is a focal point of the town. Stow has traditional narrow alleyways, or "tures" as they were once known, which wind their way through the centre of the town. It is these same alleyways that were once used to channel the sheep to the fair. Another point of interest in the town is the well in Well Lane which is now a Grade II Listed Building. As a result of the rather unique geology of the area, water held in the higher layers of the limestone bursts out of various fissures on the slopes and two do still work as wells now. Food & Drink Stow has numerous places to eat and drink, with a range of cuisines and prices to suit all tastes and budgets. The list below is a small sample of the range of options available: The Queens Head Inn (www.donnington-brewery.com/the_queens_head_stow_on_the_wold): The Queens Head is a traditional town pub, owned by the local Donnington brewery. Here locals mix with tourists who are unsurprisingly attracted into this lovely old pub. Good traditional pub food and ale, in a great atmosphere; The Sheep (www.thesheepstow.co.uk): A seasonal menu with pizzas being a major focus. There is a wood-fired oven in the restaurant, where you can watch your freshly made pizza cook; The Talbot: Laid back drinking, eating and coffees in a traditional meeting place for the town slap bang in the Square. Sofas, original paintings, rickety old tables and chairs, with staff who are under the threat of death if they are not friendly! White Hart (www.thewhitehartstow.com): A 'boutique' style Inn, which has recently been beautifully refurbished throughout. The Inn boasts two cosy bars, lots of open fires and an atmospheric dining room. Hearty food is served during the day, with finer dining in the evening. All food is sourced locally and prepared on the premises; The Bell (www.thebellatstow.com): The Bell at Stow is the perfect country pub. Behind the ivy-clad façade lies a charming, stylish interior with the warmest of welcomes. A favourite with the locals, The Bell is open all day every day offering everything from a pint of well-kept cask ale through to a delicious three-course supper. Stow has a Tesco and a Co-op for regular food purchases and, for special treats, there is a traditional butcher's shop and a number of delicatessens specialising in local produce, including: Lambournes Butchers (www.lambournesbutchers.co.uk): A family owned, multi-award winning traditional butchers, renowned for locally-produced meat, poultry and game, sourced from hand-picked suppliers. Referring to the owner, the BBC's Adam Henson has observed that "what Bob doesn't know about sausages isn't worth knowing"; Cotswold Food Store and Café (www.cotswoldfoodstore.co.uk): The Cotswold Food Store and Café offers a huge variety of delicious local foods, ranging from locally sourced vegetables, meat, eggs and bread to charcuterie, hams and pates in its deli counter. The adjoining café offers freshly prepared meals by resident chef Sonya Kidney, along with home-made cakes, biscuits and light bites; Hamptons Fine Foods (www.hamptons-hampers.co.uk): Hamptons offer a wide range of quality foods to discerning customers. The shelves are packed with exclusive and delicious fine foods that one would not normally find in the mass outlets. A veritable Aladdin's cave. Hamptons specialise in gourmet hampers which can be collected from their shop or delivered direct.

In the Middle Ages the wool trade made the Cotswolds prosperous and some of this money was put into the building of churches, leaving the area with a number of large handsome Cotswold stone "wool churches". The area remains affluent, which has encouraged the establishment of many high quality pubs, restaurants and antique shops.

In the heart of Bourton-on-the-Water, this 2-bedroom, terraced holiday cottage makes an ideal base from which to explore the area. Enjoy the shops, or visit the Motor Museum and Model village, all within walking distance. Further afield are many delightful Cotswold villages and towns including Stratford-upon-Avon, Cheltenham and Oxford or nearby NT properties - Snowshill Manor, Hidcote Manor Gardens, Warwick Castle and Sudeley Castle. Shop 100 yards, pub and restaurant 50 yards.
Forsythia Cottage is a two-bedroom (1 single, 1 double) Grade II Listed property and forms part of one of the original terraces situated within the peaceful backwaters of Bourton-on-the-Water’s picturesque High Street. The River Windrush flows through the centre, spanned by low arched bridges, flanked by wide village greens and lovely period Cotswold stone buildings. The village offers a wealth of attractions, delightful shops and eating establishments to suit everyone’s taste.
Eating Bourton-on-the-Water is jam-packed full of quaint cafés, renowned restaurants and traditional pubs to enjoy, all within a gentle stroll of Forsythia Cottage’s front door. Highly recommended is The Rose Tree, a cosy riverside restaurant boasting great views and even better food where booking is essential, as well as The Croft Restaurant at Chester House Hotel; another riverside gem with a well-priced menu of light bites and freshly-prepared mains, using locally sourced ingredients wherever possible. An afternoon tea lover’s dream, Bourton-on-the-Water has options galore to satisfy your sweet tooth. Smiths of Bourton is a firm favourite amongst locals and visitors alike; a quintessential Cotswolds tearoom in every sense from the outside, serving up a freshly-baked menu of sweet and savoury treats as well as traditional afternoon teas. For fans of the artisan scene, Bakery on the Water is somewhat of an under the radar riverside gem, offering up delicious fresh pastries, brunch dishes, tasty sandwiches and baked goodies, freshly made each day using the finest of ingredients. Slightly further afield in nearby Upper Slaughter (9-minute drive), Lords of the Manor offers an award-winning fine dining experience that comes highly recommended (albeit with a price tag to match), as does The Slaughters Manor House; a 17th century manor house that houses an award-winning restaurant in its Orangery, with an exquisite locally-inspired menu created by chef Nik Chappell. Nearby Stow-on-the-Wold also boasts its fair share of dining establishments well-worth a visit, including the laid-back Sheep on Sheep Street with its sourdough pizza specialities and The Old Butchers; a hugely popular eatery where booking is recommended. Walking Smack bang in the middle of the glorious countryside of the rolling Cotswold hills, keen walkers have plenty of choice when it comes to walks that lead straight from the village centre; just a two-minute stroll from Forsythia Cottage. A wonderful circular village walk, leading from the village’s Visitor Information Centre, is highly recommended and allows you to get to grips with Bourton-on-the-Water’s rich heritage, taking you past key sites, buildings and monuments as you stroll. For those keen to explore the surrounding villages, a circular walk following the Windrush and Gloucestershire Ways through to the villages of Upper and Lower Slaughter offers a gentle pace that totals 4 miles in distance; perfect for those not looking for anything too strenuous. More hard-core rambling fans should give the 9-mile circular trek from Bourton through Naunton and the Slaughters a go. Starting at Victoria Street’s Visitor Centre, this picturesque walk takes you through lush fields, chocolate-box villages and along the flowing River Windrush, with Naunton acting as a perfectly-placed pit-stop half way round to relax and refuel. Must-Sees Bourton-on-the-Water and its surrounds have a plethora of attractions to keep guests of all ages entertained, many of which are within walking distance of Forsythia Cottage. No visit to the village would be complete without a visit to the Cotswold Motoring Museum & Toy Collection (2-minute walk), perfect for kids and big kids alike, and home to children’s TV favourite Brum. The Model Village (5-minute walk) is also a must see, a perfect replica of the village built to 1/9th scale in traditional Cotswold stone, as is the wildlife-lovers’ paradise Birdland (8-minute walk) if you’ve got younger guests in tow. If you’re visiting in the summer, you may also be lucky enough to play witness to the village’s annual football match taking place entirely in the River Windrush; an August Bank Holiday favourite that sees visitors flock from miles around to cheer on their favourite team. Slightly further afield, Cotswold Farm Park (10-minute drive) is a firm favourite for families and animal lovers, as is Sudeley Castle (25-minute drive) in the historic town of Winchcombe. For adults in search of a peaceful day out, Burford Garden Centre (20-minute drive) is a shopping haven crammed full of luxury goodies, artisan gifts and beautiful plants to browse, as is Daylesford Farmshop & Café (15-minute drive); a famous farmshop with a distinctly luxury feel, owned by Lady Bamford.

Honeystones is a stylish, interior designed, detached house, located on the edge of the famous village of Bourton-on-the-Water and within walking distance of The Slaughters. Bourton is affectionately known as the “Venice of the Cotswolds”, due to the beautiful river that meanders through the heart of the village. Bourton itself has plenty to appeal to visitors, including a wide range of shops, pubs and restaurants, as well as being ideally located for exploring the many other beautiful towns and villages of the Cotswolds. Further afield places, such as Stratford-upon-Avon, Oxford and Bath are also within easy reach. Important Customer Notice: - Special Events: Christmas, New Year and the Cheltenham Horse Racing Festival are Special Events, with bookings typically limited to weeks only from a specific start day If your dates don’t appear to fit, then please click Contact Host below to find out what options may exist for you!
Honeystones is very peacefully located on a no through road, in the village of Bourton-on-the-Water. There is a small lawned area at the front of the property, with a path leading to the front door, which opens into a spacious hallway. This leads to the following ground floor rooms: Living room: A stylish room in muted tones, with bi-fold doors leading directly onto the garden, there is ample seating with a two and a three-seater sofa, plus an arm chair and SMART TV; Dining & family room: this convivial space has a dining table with seating for eight plus a chaise sofa and arm chair, plus another SMART TV; Kitchen area: This spacious area is open to the dining room and is very well equipped with two electric ovens, a six-ring gas hob, full height double fridge and freezer units, a full-size dishwasher plus washing machine and a tumble dryer. As well as plenty of pots and pans, glasses a crockery, there is a microwave, kettle, toaster, blender, a coffee machine and separate cafetiere. In addition to the island there is a breakfast bar and three bar stools as well as a docking station. Double doors open onto a patio with table and chairs, and the back garden beyond; Downstairs cloakroom: Contains a toilet and wash basin. Stairs lead up from the ground floor to the first floor, with the following rooms: Master bedroom: A good size room with stylish feature pieces which contains a king size bed and an ensuite bathroom, with a walk-in shower, toilet and wash basin; Bedroom 2: Smart room with twin beds or a super king size bed and a second ensuite bathroom with walk-in shower, toilet and wash basin; Bedroom 3: Contains 2 single beds; Bedroom 4: Contains a double bed; Games room: A great room for children, stocked with games. There is a double garage at the side of the house, with additional parking for three cars on the drive or in the designated space in front of the property.

There are several footpaths from the village, and two national cycle routes pass through the village, making this an ideal spot for outdoor enthusiasts. The many picturesque towns and villages of the North Cotswolds are also all within easy reach, as are other attractions such as Oxford, Blenheim Palace and Stratford-upon-Avon. Important Customer Notice: - Special Events: Christmas, New Year and the Cheltenham Horse Racing Festival are Special Events, with bookings typically limited to weeks only from a specific start day If your dates don’t appear to fit, then please click Contact Host below to find out what options may exist for you!

The comfortable dining area in the corner of the room has a round table and seating for four people. The Cotswolds are characterised by attractive small towns and villages, built of the underlying Cotswold stone (a yellow oolitic limestone).

Friday evenings are legendary for the Champagne Happy Hour at 5pm - grab a seat if you can as the weekend gets off to the perfect start!

The town prospered during the Cotswold wool trade and this funded the impressive 15th century church of St Peter and St Paul. Every Wednesday, locals and tourists alike come to the town for the open-air market which showcases local produce, and the annual Northleach Charter Fair and Music Festival in June is a wonderful event for all ages. On the outskirts of the town sits Stowell Park, a private estate whose stunning gardens are open to the public during the months of May and June each year, offering fine views over the Coln Valley and displaying gorgeous flowers. Northleach is surrounded by the beautiful countryside of the Cotswolds Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, with many cycle routes and walking trails on its doorstep to explore. It is also well placed for visiting the other lovely towns and villages of the Cotswolds, including Cirencester, Burford, Bourton-on-the-Water and Chedworth, home to the Roman Villa which is owned by the National Trust. Further afield destinations such as Stratford-upon-Avon, Oxford and Bath are also within easy reach for day trips. Voted "England's Favourite Village" in 2004 by Country Life magazine, Kingham is a beautiful, unspoilt Cotswold village, with a large open green and some elegant stone and thatch cottages, mostly dating from the 17th and 18th centuries. It is situated in the Evenlode valley, a short drive from the well known Cotswold market towns of Stow-on-the-Wold and Chipping Norton. There has been a church on the site of St. Andrew's Church for at least 900 years, although the present building is a mixture of ages. The font is 13th century, the Perpendicular Gothic tower 15th century, the nave roof is dated 1774 and the rest of the church was remodelled in 1851-3. The church also has a fine old rectory, built in the 17th century. Kingham has two highly regarded pubs, a village shop and is just a mile away from Daylesford Organic, which is well known for its organic food, cookery school and spa. Kingham is also the only village in the Cotswolds that is served by a main line railway station, which provides regular services to London Paddington station. Food & Drink Kingham is fortunate to be blessed with two of the best village pubs in the whole of the Cotswolds, as well as a welcoming hotel, and is just a mile away from the well known Daylesford Organic Farm: The Wild Rabbit (www.thewildrabbit.co.uk): Owned by Lord and Lady Bamford, and described as "the poshest pub in Britain", the Wild Rabbit has been totally refurbished and boasts a total of three real fires in its dining room and separate bar. The menu reflects the seasons and celebrates everything that is great about local produce. All ingredients are carefully selected for their quality and are organic, where possible; The Kingham Plough (www.thekinghamplough.co.uk): The Kingham Plough has established a well deserved reputation as an outstanding dining pub and has deservedly been recognised by numerous awards bestowed by various different bodies. The modern British food is inspirational, not your ordinary Gastro-Pub menu, where everything is prepared from scratch by a team of skilled chefs. Headed by chef-owner Emily Watkins and head chef Ben Dulley, the menu offers an exciting take on English classics. The kitchen is dedicated to making the most of the carefully sourced local ingredients and everything from the charcuterie to the baked beans in the award winning breakfast is proudly made by hand. Kingham also has a village store, selling a wide range of everyday products, including fresh items, beers, wines and spirits, groceries and confectionery. There are regular farmers' markets held in the village, throughout the year.

The front entrance of the cottage is on Victoria Street, with the front door and porch framed by a rambling rose and ivy. To the rear, accessed via Bow Lane, is private parking leading to the back garden, patio and an entrance into the cottage through the kitchen. Perfectly located for easy access to the centre of this popular Cotswold village, yet away from the well-trodden tourist trail, Appletree Cottage is surrounded by some of Bourton-on-the-Water’s most attractive architecture. Guests can set out from the cottage’s door to explore a wonderful circular village walk, or head off into the surrounding countryside following the River Windrush and Gloucestershire Ways for four miles to the villages of Upper and Lower Slaughter. The cottage has been thoughtfully modernised, while preserving its 18th Century features, including an inglenook fireplaces, exposed beams and impressively thick walls. Emma, John, Abigail & Molly extend a warm welcome to their family home in Bourton-on-the-Water, where we have one letting room, accommodating a maximum of two guests. The room has its own private entrance from our garden, which you can also relax in.
Strathspey is built from traditional Cotswold stone and situated in the beautiful village of Bourton-on-the-Water. We are only a few minutes walk from the village centre and the Windrush Way passes down the side of the house, offering a pleasant stroll into the village along the banks of the river. Whilst Strathpsey's location is a major benefit, the house is situated at the quieter end of the town and forms the boundary for the Bourton-on-the-Water Conservation Area. The room has white linen and Egyptian cotton towels, for your maximum comfort, and is well equipped with tea and coffee making facilities, colour TV with DVD player and radio alarm. The room has a small private en-suite shower room and Wifi internet access is also available throughout the property.
Officially an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, the Cotswolds encapsulates England at its most romantic; rolling hills, ancient forests, meandering streams alongside beautiful villages and market towns. Frequently called the Venice of the Costwolds, Bourton-on-the-Water is situated on the banks of the picturesque River Windrush; which runs along the back of Strathspey. Bourton is a very popular destination for both English and International visitors. Offering easy access to the rest of the Cotswolds, it is a great base from which to explore the area. The town itself has a wide selection of delightful pubs, coffee shops and restaurants. Protected by Conservation Area status the town has a number of beautiful buildings; almost caught in a time warp.

The living room then leads into: Kitchen: For a small cottage, the beautifully decorated kitchen is very well equipped, including a cooker with hob, microwave, dishwasher, fridge, freezer and washer dryer. Returning to the living room, a narrow, steep staircase leads up to a small first floor hallway, off which is: Bedroom 2: A cosy bedroom, with exposed beams and brickwork, containing a double bed next to the stone mullion window, which looks out to fields and the brook below. The main bathroom is accessed via bedroom 1 and this contains a bath with handheld shower attachment, basin and toilet. As the village is away from main roads, it avoids the heavy tourist traffic and so visitors can get a real sense of rural life, enjoying the rolling countryside which falls within the Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The peaceful Blockley Brook attracts tourists and locals as a quiet place to relax in the warmer months. This brook, together with the other brook in the village, played a part in Blockley's history as there were once 12 water mills which provided work in various industries over the centuries, including silk production and flour milling.

This brook, together with the other brook in the village, played a part in Blockley's history as there were once 12 water mills which provided work in various industries over the centuries, including silk production and flour milling. Architecturally the village has quite a different character in comparison to the rest of the North Cotswolds as it has a more similar style to that of the villages in the Stroud valley, but here they have used a more golden stone. This design is reminiscent of wealthier times as the majority of the cottages were built during the 17th and 18th century, at the height of the industrial era. A popular attraction in Blockley is Mill Dene Garden which is a partner garden of the Royal Horticultural Society. With a misty grotto, stream and seats around the mill pond, this is a lovely place to while away the time looking out for the kingfishers whilst enjoying a cream tea. Food & Drink For a relatively small village, Blockley is blessed with a number of places to eat and drink, all just a short walk from anywhere in the village. The Crown Inn (www.crownhotelblockley.co.uk): This 16th century country inn is situated in the heart of Blockley and features a restaurant serving dishes prepared with local produce, along with a bar with an open fire and a wide selection of real ales. This honey coloured historic inn is covered in Virginia creeper which turns a stunning red in Autumn. Walk inside to the scents of wood smoke from the open log fires and snuggle into a comfy chair by the fire, to view the daily papers with a coffee or something stronger. Dinner is served in the warm and friendly restaurant with lighter meals and snacks available in the bar. The Great Western Arms (https://www.hooky.co.uk/content/our-pubs/great-western-arms-blockley.ashx): The award winning Great Western Arms is the “Local” of Blockley. The “Western” as it is locally known, is a Hook Norton Brewery pub and is tenanted to Sharon Brace. It is right at the heart of the village both geographically and socially, and is where Sharon and her team serve up some of the finest food, drink and entertainment available. The pub has two rooms: one is used as the restaurant and the other houses a pool table, juke box and darts board (dogs are welcome in the pool room). The Pub has recently been extensively refurbished and now boasts 1st class facilities and comforts. The spacious lounge bar/restaurant retains its period "feel" but has been re-furnished and decorated with great taste and care. The atmosphere is warm, welcoming and friendly. Blockley Village Shop & Café (blockleyshop.com): The community owned shop and café is the hub of the village. The shop offers a wide range of basic groceries and necessities, and a tempting array of local products, including farm meat and free-range eggs, daily deliveries of local fruit and veg, freshly baked bread and locally made ready meals. Logs are generally stocked in winter. The licensed café is open all day, serving breakfasts, lunches, coffees and teas, and home-baked cakes. Take-away hot and cold food, including croissants, pastries and baguettes, is also very popular. The café, where free broadband is available, is a popular meeting place for locals and visitors of all ages.
