Ours was a retreat-type weekend getaway for the sole purpose of relaxing and enjoying rural life. The Coop was the perfect choice for us. From the moment I arrived, I felt as though I were back on my Uncle's farm. I was enthralled by the roosters and hens scampering around the property as well as the friendly dogs. The sheep were adorable! Dave was an attentive, caring host who seemed eager to make our visit as comfortable and pleasant as possible. And he did just that. From the fresh eggs (from above-mentioned hens) to the coffee, cream, butter, and English muffins, I felt like a visiting family member more than a "customer." Love is in the details, and those details were abundant: carefully selected antique furniture, original artwork on the walls, pocket doors, and vintage light fixtures created an atmosphere of comfortable familiarity. From the moment I stepped in the front door, I felt welcomed and well cared for. The kitchen was up-to-date with a full-size refrigerator new gas range, microwave oven, coffee maker, toaster, sharp (!) knives, and a full set of dishes, silverware, and cooking utensils. We brought food and prepared four full meals without any difficulty whatsoever. Smile-provoking extras included cloth napkins with napkin rings, extra virgin olive oil, sea salt, a pepper mill, sugar, flour, catsup, mustard, mayo, cola, locally made jelly, hot chocolate, microwave popcorn, a selection of teas, and fresh garlic from the garden. We had our dinners on the back deck and sat chatting comfortably until the chickens came home to roost and the sun went down. This rural setting was peaceful and soul enriching. I particularly enjoyed the bird feeder on the deck that attracted a constant stream of chirping birds. Check out time was flexible so we eased our way toward home around noon. I purchased a dozen eggs and several chicken breasts so I could take a little country living home with me. Readers may also want to know there is reliable cell service, free wi-fi, and plenty of nice areas for taking walks. The bathroom had modern fixtures (shower, no tub), and there was plenty of hot water. There is no dishwasher, but there are two deep sinks, dish washing soap, a very nice dish drainer, and plenty of towels. There is ample space for clothing and lots of drawers for storage. There is a small table in the kitchen and a larger one in the living/dining room. There is a large table outdoors as well as comfortable chairs for lounging (both on the back deck and on the screened in front porch). There is also a television equipped with Netflix (so I'm told ... we didn't turn it on). The location is not very far from "civilization" ... restaurants, etc. I saw them on the way, but stayed at The Coop for the entire weekend. It seemed too lovely to leave. I hope to make this a regular getaway destination. Everything about the experience was pleasant and heartwarming....

The Coop is a perfect place to shake off the city, relax and enjoy the bucolic life of beautiful Kentucky horse country. The cabin is just perfect...they have thought of everything! David is great...he made sure everything went well but let us have plenty of privacy. He was gracious enough to spend time with us and show us their amazing farm. It was one of the best getaways we could imagine and hope to come back soon for a peaceful respite. The Dropseed farm is fascinating and it was an experience we won't forget.

Thank you how much for giving us a wonderful place to stay. It was absolutely beautiful and we will definitely be coming back here if we are ever in the area. There was great hospitality, we had everything we needed ( including farm fresh eggs and coffee), and the beds were very comfortable.

The Coop went above and beyond our expectations! We really enjoyed our stay and everything we needed was there. New appliances, comfortable furniture, and beds inside, nice front and rear porches outside. My granddaughter loved the sheep, especially Sean because he let her feed him and pet him. The dogs welcomed us and the chickens entertained us. It was a very peaceful and quiet location yet close to the area attractions. We enjoyed a nice walk in the afternoon in the field and nice conversations with David and Margaret. They were very nice and gracious hosts. We would highly recommend the coop for a nice relaxing vacation down on the farm.

Dave's place is a very funny to stay at. Its a beautiful organic farm with eggs and chicken right from the far that you can eat. The coop guesthouse is gorgeous and the kind of place that you would defintely impress anyone if you were going there on a romantic gateway. Dave and Margaret are really great hosts and funs folks to talk to here. I defintely recommend.

This was my first experience with AirBNB. Can I just say that it exceeded my expectations. If you are ever in need of a place to stay in the Louisville area, this is the place! Sharie went above and beyond for us. I would have simply been happy with having a neat and clean house - which this was 100%. But, Sharie answered my many questions and was very helpful. We came to Louisville for the Kentucky Derby, and her house was in a great location. Sharie provided a salon recommendation for myself and my niece and was able to help with places to eat, stores to shop, etc. We are extremely grateful to Sharie as she made our weekend worry free!

Easy to get to,great area with a great Mexican resteraunt near by. Great view of the Ohio river.

This is a great place in a beautiful location, there's plenty of eateries to chose from in the area and the views of the Ohio river are stunning especially in the mornings and at sunset this is definitely a place I will visit again to explore for longer next time. The communication with Troy, the host was great and very helpful.

great place. was a bit of a drive to get to from the highway. not many restaurants open late around, but if you wanted a secluded place on the water it is great and also loved that it was pet friendly.

Beautiful Georgian style home in Kentucky horse country. I booked this place for the Kentucky Derby. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would book this place again.

We had a lovely stay in Goshen! Gary's home was so close to Hermitage Farm where the majority of our events were being hosted. He had a house well equipped with almost everything we might need for a weekend away. The neighborhood where his home is located is absolutely beautiful. We had a lovely stay and would stay at Gary's again!

Bob waited for us even if we were after the 9 PM cut off time (Thanks, Bob!) Then we felt welcomed as a family member would. I can not ask for more.

My friend and I had the best experience with Bob and Robbie. Not only were the accommodations outstanding, our hosts were delightful. Robbie serenaded us with beautiful music on the baby grand piano (upon our request) while Bob had coffee ready for our crazy showtime schedule. Our living quarters were quaint, clean, and very comfortable. We highly recommend this classy, cozy and very tranquil pad for a refreshing stay over!
