Sumiyoshi-2-chōme-9 Sumiyoshi Wardone of Japan's oldest shrines. Founded in the 3rd century before the introduction of Buddhism, it displays a unique style of shrine architecture, called Sumiyoshi-zukuri.
The shrine was relocated to its current location in the 16th century in response to an order by Toyotomi Hideyoshi, to make room for the construction of Osaka Castle.
