We love Amour because it's like having a sweet little French cafe right in our own neighborhood! They have delicious desserts, gelato, and breakfast all locally sourced. If you visit in the summertime, you'll see their beautiful garden and see the kinds of magic that they produce!

Clocking in at approximately 1,700 square miles, the Great Salt Lake is the largest natural lake west of the Mississippi River. The lake's name comes from the nature of the water: The evaporation process (the only exit available for the lake's water) leaves behind salty mineral deposits. Salt Lake City's visitors and residents enjoy the area's many hiking trails, ample picnic spots and boating and fishing opportunities. https://utah.com/great-salt-lake-state-park

Sightseeing

Temple Square's three-block plaza is home to nearly 20 attractions related to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. It's anchored by the towering Salt Lake Temple – where, among other things, weekly meetings of the church's governing bodies are held – and other fascinating buildings like the expansive Tabernacle and the Gothic-style Assembly Hall, which offer insight into the history and development of the Mormon church.

Arts & Culture

The Natural History Museum of Utah opened its doors to the public in the George Thomas Building in 1969. Since then, collections have been transferred from the University's academic departments and grown through research, acquisition, and contributions to number more than 1.6 million objects. The Museum has solidified its position as the state museum of natural history and has developed strong programs of exhibits and education, both on-site and statewide. In November 2011, we moved to a new home, the Rio Tinto Center, with entirely new exhibit galleries, engaging programs for the public and state-of-the-art collections care and research facilities. https://nhmu.utah.edu/
