Must see if visiting the area! Iconic, grand Pacific Northwest Lodge artfully built in the 1930's sitting on the south side of Mount Hood at 6,000'. Good skiing, especially for beginners or novices.

Excellent trail system about 8 miles from cabin down Barlow Trail Road. To access the main trailhead, you have to pedal about 3 miles up a paved logging road climbing approximately 2,000'. If you are a beginner or novice, there is a loop around the parking lot and an entry point to Lower Hide and Seek about 1.5 miles up the logging road. Laura's Loop about .5 mile up is nice for beginners, and at .75 TNT/Little Monkey has slopestyle jumps for those wanting to air it out. For more advanced riders there are few options at the top, including my favorite: Communication Breakdown (flow)-Quid Pro Flow (flow)-338(XC)-Two Turntables (fast and tight), Lower Hide and Seek (flow).

Nice park (small-fee) with the unique Cascade Streamwatch observation window into the Salmon River. There are flat interpretive trails that lead to the Boulder Ridge hiking trail that ascends 4.7 miles with sweet views of Mt. Hood.

This is our favorite auto accessible lake in Hoodland! It's off the beaten path, so less crowded than Trillium with southeast views of Mt Hood. It's a private resort, so there is a modest fee, but there are also ammenities including non-motorized boat rentals, fishing gear, etc. Really nice walk around the lake through ancient Cedars and Hemlock trees.
