Oppistun Børli on Fjeldskogen is the homestead where Hans Børli grew up (1918-1989). The poet Hans Børli (1918–1989) has often been characterized as "The Poet of the Forest", a term he himself both liked and disliked. The starting point was the forest. He knew it better than anyone. Magical nature, dreams, bloodshed, sorrow and joy. Hans Børli has been translated into several languages, including Czech, Russian, German and Spanish, and he received a number of literary awards.

Astrids Glass is based in the barn on the small farm Østheim on the outskirts of Magnor, Eidskog municipality. Here, Astrid Hanssen and Willy Andersson work full-time shaping and blowing glass."We only blow our own designs that are sold in art and craft shops around the country, see our dealers from the menu. We are open at Østheim a few times a year."

On the national border with Sweden there is a large area called Morokulien, here a peace monument has also been erected in connection with the 100-year celebration of the peace between Norway and Sweden in 1914. At the midpoint of the national border is also the information center that sells souvenirs and provides guiding.

In Eidskog and Aurskog-Høland municipalities are the remains of the Sootkanalen, it stretches from Skjervangen in Eidksog to Setten Aurskog-Høland. When it was in operation, between 1849 and 1930, it was Norway's largest lock facility for timber operations. Today you can walk along the canal and experience the remains of 16 locks, a horse-drawn railway and a log chute. Several of the locks have also been reconstructed so that you can see what they looked like in operation

This is the best shopping center for food. The market has a large glutenfree section as well as isles with american, asian, balkan food etc. I prefer to go to Hypermat instead of the main shopping center as they have a wider selection of food.

there are many hiking paths in the forest starting at the door steps to the house. The famous path that goes along the border to sweden starts here. (follow the little road in the back of the house and look for blue marked trees who marks the path.
