It’s a short walk from our house (just 2 blocks south of Safeway) and has great outdoor seating and 5-6 different restaurants to choose from including our favorite pizza in DC - the Slice Joint. There is also sushi, burgers, tacos, and more! The coffee shop is open during the day and has a fun DC focused gift shop.

The Roost

This is one of our favorite places in DC. Walk along the boardwalk, enjoy a swing with a view of the harbor, rent kayaks, go ice skating, roast marshmallows by an open fire or just sit by the bonfire at the end of the dock. There are dozens of restaurants and shops to enjoy too!

Metro tips
Stand to the right walk to the left on the metro escalators! When doors open stand back and let people inside the train exit before trying to enter the train. Stay behind the bumpy panels on the metro platform or expect a loud honk from the train conductor.
